Where are you guys getting these screenshots from? I can't see them anywhere on the site. Although the URL suggests its hosted on Xbox.com ..?
those are under the car listings

So I'm guessing these environments are just for autovista/photomode? They look a bit more realistic compared to the tracks we've seen. Would be nice if we got to race in these types of locales though.

Hope they're in both, though really in autovista there'd be no point cause there isn't an option to take photos IIRC.

I'd VERY MUCH like a GT-like mode to take photos in all those locales.

Don't worry. That's Dan's announcement for next week along with 720p, compressed, export! :)

Its a good thing they stopped using that song for every action movie 10 years ago, otherwise it would have made the trailer seem generic.

Don't worry, you're definitely gonna get that.

And instead they used a song that was also used in another opening trailer at E3. I'd have preferred to see the leaked one on the main MS stage, TBH. Something to say "fuck family friendly, here's some MAN gaming with balls and testosterone and shit". Not fucking Kanye.

I saw where they are rewarding players with cars based on what level you reached in FORZA 3 but how does that work? Does a level 50 get all the cars below 50 or do you only get the car listed for 50? Hopefully that makes sense.

Hopefully the former, as that's the only thing that makes sense.

I'm pretty sure you get everything at and below your level. It would be completely stupid if you only got a R car because you were level 50.

Oh I got you, I didn't realize the specific reward cars were already laid out. I was thinking the value of each car would increase at every level.

I was going to post the same question. I don't think they will be used for autovista (as that seems locked to the white warehouse from everything we've seen), but I'd love to be able to use them for home spaces. I'm a little concerned that we've only seen the white warehouse so far out of all of those shown in that gif. We've seen the Stelio Pass and Top Gear homespaces, but those aren't shown in that montage.

I'm starting to think that the clinical and basic white warehouse deals with IBL better than any of the other environments, and that's why this feature is only available there. I've got another theory that New York and Positano were dropped because of performance hits as IBL tried to cope with all the varied lighting from environment textures so close to the cars.

All post are deemed irrelevant until the demo is upon us!

I have sacrificed my beard to the Greenawalt.

What have you done?

Send us a sign as to how we might be delivered from boredom and bad forum post.

Edit: Here is how the meeting went down.
Greenawalt: Thanks everyone for coming to this brainstorming session for our E3 party. Lets incubate some ideas on how we can deliver our passion for car culture.
Employee 1: How about we get some of the exotic cars we all love to surround the party.
Greenawalt: *strokes beard* That sounds like a good way to turn car lovers into gamers and gamers into car lovers. Lets go deeper, suggestions on cars.
Employee 2: How bout a Koenigsegg?
Greenawalt: Yes what else.
Employee 3: Well dirt seems like its been gaining in popularity, so how about a rally car?
Greenawalt: That sounds definitive it's a go.
Employee 1: Won't that lead people to think rally stages are in the game?
Greenawalt: Why would they think that?
Employee 1: Well we did put up that article about our trip to that rally school on the website.
Greenawalt: I think you are forgetting that the excitement over Image Based Lighting will have them so worked up they won't notice. And throw an Atom in there as well it will help with the tie in of Top Gear. *Goes to his notepad and crosses off Amalfi and NY with a smirk*

i can't even begin to imagine the number of "incubate this !" liveries we'll come across in fm4 auction house.
Dan will be everywhere.

I know i'm working on a plate/logo to put on all my cars saying "gamer turned car lover"

We laugh about it, but it is probably how it all went down. Either Turn 10 are seriously divorced from Microsoft's marketing department, or Turn 10 themselves thought it would be perfectly acceptable to promote their game with props like rally cars, open wheelers, pictures and videos of cars with headlights on, night skies etc when the actual game contains none of those things. It's a little bit naughty.

I really think the marketing strategy and tactics used in promoting FM4 are even worse than they were for FM3. This is something I thought would be impossible.

Its in their DNA.
Remember the F3 commercial with the R8 with the door open, couldn't do that in the game.

They haven't announced any returning ones, but they did announce a Hummer H1, so I think it's fairly certain.

About Hollywood style visual and audio effects... (introduced in Forza 4 Pre E3 video @ 1:57 )

Have "extra shaking and deeper camera angle at high speeds, and exhaust pops" been confirmed?

The only time i've ever heard any type of 'effect' coming out from the exhaust was from the Infineon trailer. Right at the end as the Ford GT slows to take the bend, a very clear overrun can be heard (first time in the series).

@ 1:55 It's been showing a sample of hollywood style audio and visual effects. (Pre E3 trailer)

I think these features have been canned due to its inappropriateness for racing simulation. (Or keep the performance @60FPS again)

If you’re connected to the server and your Xbox LIVE account is in good standing, you will be gifted credits based on your level. The car imports do not require connection to LIVE.

Has Turn 10 disclosed how many credits for each level?

The backfire/flames isn't inappropriate for racing at all. It's a real life phenomenon seen in any racing on the track.
Flames shooting from the exhaust can bee seen in a few E3 vids.

4. They hired a production company to throw the party, and the production company went to a media car provider who rounded up a bunch of random racing cars to show.

What was it about that track that you like so much?
layout and visuals, it felt great to clean race on it back in the day.

The hills in the background on the approach to the first hairpin are still amazing.

That's right, every racing car or "highly tuned" engine has to sound WILD, pop and spit some flames.
FM3 was too soft and quiet on that side, the sounds in the Infineon trailer is definitely a big improvement, let's just hope that's what we'll have in-game and that its not some editing done by Turn10 for the trailer...

Fallen Xbot (cannot continue gaining levels in this class)
so, what about BRNO? fucking amazing track - i think i like it better then SPA :O

I never played Forza 1, but Blue Mountain Raceway is at the top of my wishlist as far as old tracks are concerned.

Alpine Ring is second based on layout - but I feel the backdrop would be a little to similar to the Alps.

I don't think Turn 10 even know what BRNO is.

What's with the all-caps? Brno isn't an abbreviation, it's the name of a city.

...any Masaryk Circuit would be an awesome addition to Forza.

Of course, the Masaryk Circuit would be incredible....
