and Infineon apparently isn't supposed to be called Sears Point, either :)

Lol. It's funny with track names isn't it?
One day it's Laguna Seca and Mazda Raceway Laguna Seca the next. It's really named Mount Panorama and not what most call it...Bathurst..etc

What was it about that track that you like so much?
It reminds me of Spa a bit. Very fast and flowing with nice elevation changes.

My only complaint was that it was maybe a bit too easy for most cars. A lot of the turns were completely flat-out unless in something very high powered.

I love the quaint way Forza drivers throw handfuls of straw at each other when their cars touch. It's a terrific alternative to road rage.

One the subject of tracks, I know its never been in Forza. But how many games has Donington been in? The place will always have a special place in my heart, for totally non racing related reasons.

It was in Test Drive Le Mans, and it was an awesome track to race. Easily one of my favorites in the game, along with Catalunya.

It was in Codemaster's TOCA series.
Brands Hatch is nice also.

Ah thankyou for the quick replies folks! Going to need to check some of them out. Hopefully they get the track sorted out and its in some more games in the future.

OT but man, I just listened to a making of video regarding sound on NFS The Run and heard some amazing effects. The cars have always sounded amazing (over the top) but now, the tyre screeching is some of the best i've ever heard as well...

That's what I'm looking for in a race track.

There are good "flat" tracks, but in the end, they're just going to bore the hell out of anyone.

I can't wait for FM4. And the hype has pushed me towards playing GT5. Might sound strange, especially if you consider that I've played so little of PD's latest game. But visual inconsistencies aside, I really like its track selection. Fantasy tracks are amazing.

It's been PGR4+GT5 these days. And of course a bit of FM3.

But I need that autovista NOW.

Have you found out whether Nick Wiswell is OK yet Saladine? I heard he'd been kidnapped by Somali pirates.

Sound was always a big strength of the NFS franchise. I don't get how they're doing such a good job, compared to other studios.

I've got a feeling that what most people wanted will not be featured hence the lack of this special 'audio segment' for fear of backlash.
They'll just let the people find out for themselves come game in hand time...

Yeah, the THX-Certified Underground NFSs had amazing sound back in the Xbox games.

In car related news, yesterday I was amazed to see three old American cars on a parking lot in my town. A 1968 Dodge Charger, a 1961 Chevrolet Impala and a 1968 (not sure about that one) Chevrolet El Camino were parked. They were all painted in matte (the Charger looked awesome in black) and I also noticed that the El Camino was sporting Cragar rims.

I have just been playing some Le Mans.

24 cars on track. Dynamic weather. Dynamic time of day. 3D grass. It's the future.

Racing round Donington in bright sunshine, then watching as dusk passes, stars begin to twinkle in the sky, headlights and street lights come on... stunning.

I'd love to recreate that in game. Maybe next gen, when we'll have more cars on the grid and an A.I. that doesn't want to kill you when you're on the racing line.
I've always thought the AI was a little bit too conservative if anything. Yes, they'll run into you sometimes, but if you make a solid move on them, I've found that 9 times out of 10, they'll give you the required space. They'll also back off way too quickly sometimes, though, and thats not good either, cuz I dont want it made easy on me.

Its far from perfect, but I prefer racing against Forza's AI over most any other racing game's. I've actually had some pretty nice(and fair) dices with the computer.

Unbelievable. It's like one of those races where you have a Zonda and everyone's on a Civic.

And I agree with Seanspeed: Forza's AI is pretty good, even if a bit too conservative, it can prove as a worthy opponent every once in a while.

Was there a wild-eyed bearded man kneeling down in front of them, furiously masturbating like his life depended on it?

Are we playing the same game? On hard they always ram straight into me and hog the line no matter how slow they are. No concept of yielding or any type of situational awareness. The amount of contact they cause breaks the immersion for me, they smash into each other as well.

They don't yield in Almafi, they don't really bother me on other tracks.

What episode/season number is it? We don't get the US Top Gear in AU but I'd certainly try to track it down for the Forza segment.

Infineon looks great, lighting looks great and replay angles (from what they show) look pretty darn good.

This is the most gameplay we've seen in a while and its direct feed. Even my wife mentioned how much better it looks than Forza 3.

I can't wait until F4 comes out.

FUCK MAN..

I only saw two seconds of in game (getting out of the forced video ads on the stream site) just before they went to the real life track lap but for those two seconds the LFA SOUNDED NUTS.

GAF get on the upload! lol

The sound was the one thing I couldn't tell much about... My TV speakers are awful (I game with Astro's). I still can't get over how great it looked. Hopefully it was recorded or Badned can get access to it and post it online.

Lol, same here. Just caught about the same two seconds.

Edit, didn't even know this was going to be on Top Gear, otherwise I would have made an effort to watch it somehow. Surprised no one mentioned it.....unless I missed the post somewhere.

Why the fuck has it taken this long to get direct feed footage?

I have not seen one episode of the American version of Top Gear. The promo stuff I saw made me sorta of HATE the hosts. Is it any good? Remotely?

Anyone got a clip of the forza footage yet?
