Wait... is that car list real?

I'm just gonna leave that there...

FWIW, there are more iconic, recognizable Australian Ford "classics" I'd rather see in FM4, but I'm not complaining. Woo!

Hey Jube, wanted to ask, is there an archive somewhere of the old streams you did before FM3 came out? I loved watching you paint those crazy designs.

Btw...would be really cool if you would do that with FM4!

Good to know Maple Valley is back...but still... :(

Hoping Sunset Infield will be back (Can't see why it wouldn't be!), but would have been nice to have something new revealed, but still! Could have been New York short, with even more added chicanes!

Disappointment, thy name is Maple Valley.

Looks good, though. I'm liking the new bridge and lighting.

WIR is up too:

The sound of revving car engines and squealing tires in Forza 4 mixed with the popping of champagne bottles on Wednesday of this week, as we here at Turn 10 Studios celebrated the submission of Forza Motorsport 4 to Microsoft certification. This is the latest milestone in Forza 4’s long and exciting road to release beginning on October 11, and the cheers of the Turn 10 crew at our all-hands meeting celebrating this event (not to mention the subsequent after-party) have me absolutely primed for the game’s release.

Congrats on the certification release, Turn 10.

Mapple Valley Confirmed!

I guess it's cool since I always loved Mapple Valley but still...there's your big track reveal! hahahaha oh boy...

We already knew it was going to be a track that has been in all games.. at least the announcement made it kinda clear anyway.

Edit: I wish they would add a couple more ribbons to Maple Valley, are they gonna release video?

great track remade visually. i am happy.

actually, between this and the other returning tracks overhaul, i will renounce all my previous disappointments at the less then stellar new tracks in forza 4 if ALL returning tracks get this attention to detail. forza has always had the best looking tracks but it would be nice to see them overhauled as each iteration hasnt improved them much

Atleast that absolutely puts a nail into the Spa coffin. If they announced Maple Valley during the Belgian GP Weekend, you can put an end to your already slim hopes.

Maybe they can stop wasting people's time on their site with silly polls on what tracks people want?

Eh maple should have been set to one side until next gen forza I think, track is ok but there are much better ones.
Maple Valley reverse is fun.

Makes a neat track for quick online races, too.

Maple is a great all around track, as the release notes say and I do agree, its great for racing, drifting and photography, definitely one of the best fictional tracks I've played in any racing game, along with Sunset Infield & the main coastal track in othergame5, its best feature was the long ribbon of that track with the arking roads spiralling out over the edge!

It's great that the returning old tracks are getting enough changes and improvements that driving on them will feel fresh.
I really like this track.

I mean I get that they're doing their guerilla cross promotion thing and it's a bit of fun but in my eyes that time would be better spent modelling SPA or creating a night or weather mode.

Maybe in terms of budget. But the teams seem to be different if you view some of the vids they've released so far.

Sad reality is that you can get more people excited with new car announcements than new track announcements.

My coworkers are big car fans and big Top Gear fans. We were chatting and they talked about my wallpapers of racecars and I let them guess what all of the wallpapers had in common. No one guessed so I had to tell them that they were all from Road America.

Maybe T10 recognizes this. More people know about cars than motorsports in general. I'm guilty of this too I just found out about India making an F1 track.

So it makes sense...but what T10 should do is release stuff like an ALMS pack that has the 4-5 tracks remaining and release that as a big mega pack. Or separately.

By now I was hoping that these racing games would have a large encyclopedia of tracks like Rock Band would. I could go online and buy these if I wanted to.

Yes you are right,I totally forgot about it , I think that some warm redish light on Maple Valley ,Fujimi and Amalfi(if it is in the game) would look great. :)

Yes I would easily pay $10 - $15 per track like I do on iRacing. We will see what their strategy is in regards to DLC and I hope we see a lot more DLC tracks than we did with FM3. I'm certain that you can model many cars for the cost of modelling one track so I can understand why they do what they do but I'm also certain that a community favourite such as SPA, Brands Hatch or Bathurst would sell very well indeed.

Forza World... it's coming I tell you. Remember when you where able to play UT and maps you didn't have would be downloaded as you switched servers

It wont feel fresh to me so long as the layout is the same.

What an incredibly disappointing reveal.

Me thinks that Turn 10 has little else to show at this point and are just trying to milk the hype by playing up crap like this.

Whatever. I'm very excited about the game, but its gonna be a slightly updated Forza 3 and thats it. User-hosted public lobbies is the main selling point for me.

Well they are going to follow their marketing schedule to keep the game fresh in everyone's head, but as has been mentioned plenty of times, we pretty much know all they have coming

So... do we pretty much know all the locations that will be in the game by now? At launch, I mean... there's always the possibility of more via DLC, obv.

Maple Valley! It's one of my favorite Forza tracks so I'm glad it is returning. Doesn't this also mean that the screenshot of the world map with location dots is incorrect? :)

In a nutshell its Forza 3.2

Things that should have been fixed like steering assist and public lobbies have been fixed. Fixed career so you aren't broke all the time.

They threw in a track. Added some "challenges" to complete. Added rivals mode.

That takes it up to v3.1

The "autocross" and "track day" features are misleading...they're psuedo-autocross and psuedo-trackdays.

The unified tire physics system is new. Happy about that. Worked on suspension model too that's nice.

That takes it up to 3.2

Maybe they're just happy with beating the competition on other consoles but they are capable of so much more.

Nah, it's a nice track and (just as importantly) has a very nice color to it compared to all the boring (aesthetically) real world tracks.

Rain conditions, night racing. All will be forgiven Turn10. Do it!

I doubt Xbox 360 could handle a Forza 4. :)

edit: also shouldn't removing Porsche count for some negative iterations? lol

Doubt that would be possible at 60fps on the 360. I'm still incredibly surprised the game looks as good as it does now. Adding in the extra particle effects, lighting and handling calculations would surely push them over the edge. And with night racing, the lighting from the other cars would be a burden that I doubt they have the buffer for as well.

Sure, it'd be great if they could pull it off but they're already doing a ridiculous amount with the hardware they have in the first place.

I am sure they are, but also development time and budget is a finite resource.
I think there are always stuff they can fix / add but imo the game is looking good, hopefully they won't release another forza till next xbox release time, or a yr into it so they can really spend more time refining it.

Agree with all of that.

Game is indeed looking good. Truth be told "Forza 3 with fixes" would have looked good to me.

Just could have used that one or two features that would have really differentiate it from Forza 3. Rally or weather would have been it for me.

Rally with Forza's tuning and upgrades would have been something. And of course livery editor.

I thought at this point all the tracks from Forza 3 would be making a return, and the only new track reveals would be for entirely new tracks. Oh well.

Forza 3 was 6 years.

"20G Take a photo of any car in every Home Space."

I appreciate synergy, but having a Kinect-required achievement is ass.
Owning the top 5 most expensive vehicles and winning a Unicorn auction as achievements are also ass.

Unicorn Hunter

Be the winning bidder on any "unicorn" car in the Auction House.

This is going to be the hardest achievement in the game. In Forza 3, the credit glitchers ran the unicorn auctions up to like 800,000,000 CR. Because of this, unicorn auctions were EXTREMELY rare.

I f**king hate the idea of unicorn cars.

They had better make earning money easier.

Edit, "Finish 1st in every single race in the Event List in Career play mode."

This is going to take some time.

How is that a Kinect-only achievement? You'll be able to take a photo in the homespace with a controller.

According to the guys at Turn 10, there's nothing groundbreaking that you miss out on with playing only with a controller/wheel, other than the obvious like head tracking and controllerless gaming.
Edit: Oh, I see you were referring to two different achievements there. Yeah, the Kinect-only cheevo is pretty poor.

Yeah, I'm pretty fucking over the idea of unicorn cars, too. What's the point of having 600/700 cars in the game when some of the coolest ones are practically unattainable? Basing a cheevo around it too is kinda crappy.

Also, with those extra "Perfect Draft/Drift/Corner" achievements, anyone else think the game might have a bit of a PGR feel to it?

The principle. Every achievement should be accessible and attainable for all users without the need to buy peripherals. I don't recall seeing something of this sort for any other game before this.

Pretty sure there are achievements that require Live for a lot of games. Like win an online race or fight or deathmatch.

Yeah its BS but its been done before.

C'mon MS...we need an achievement for "lock to lock in under 2 seconds with a 900 degree wheel" to sell Fanatec wheels.
