The sound of revving car engines and squealing tires in Forza 4 mixed with the popping of champagne bottles on Wednesday of this week, as we here at Turn 10 Studios celebrated the submission of Forza Motorsport 4 to Microsoft certification. This is the latest milestone in Forza 4s long and exciting road to release beginning on October 11, and the cheers of the Turn 10 crew at our all-hands meeting celebrating this event (not to mention the subsequent after-party) have me absolutely primed for the games release.

I guess it's cool since I always loved Mapple Valley but still...there's your big track reveal! hahahaha oh boy...

We've known since April 1st that a Warthog ending up in Forza 4 was a strong possibility.
saladine1's breakdown in 3, 2, 1...
Maple Valley reverse is fun.Diablohead said:Eh maple should have been set to one side until next gen forza I think, track is ok but there are much better ones.
OrangeOak said:It's great that the returning old tracks are getting enough changes and improvements that driving on them will feel fresh.
I really like this track.
supersaw said:I mean I get that they're doing their guerilla cross promotion thing and it's a bit of fun but in my eyes that time would be better spent modelling SPA or creating a night or weather mode.
op_ivy said:hopefully they'll see some different times of day as well
Iknos said:So it makes sense...but what T10 should do is release stuff like an ALMS pack that has the 4-5 tracks remaining and release that as a big mega pack. Or separately.
By now I was hoping that these racing games would have a large encyclopedia of tracks like Rock Band would. I could go online and buy these if I wanted to.

It wont feel fresh to me so long as the layout is the same.OrangeOak said:It's great that the returning old tracks are getting enough changes and improvements that driving on them will feel fresh.

Seanspeed said:Me thinks that Turn 10 has little else to show at this point and are just trying to milk the hype by playing up crap like this.
OrangeOak said:Yes you are right,I totally forgot about it , I think that some warm redish light on Maple Valley ,Fujimi and Amalfi(if it is in the game) would look great.
Seanspeed said:Whatever. I'm very excited about the game, but its gonna be a slightly updated Forza 3 and thats it. User-hosted public lobbies is the main selling point for me.
Nah, it's a nice track and (just as importantly) has a very nice color to it compared to all the boring (aesthetically) real world tracks.Diablohead said:Eh maple should have been set to one side until next gen forza I think, track is ok but there are much better ones.
Iknos said:In a nutshell its Forza 3.2
Things that should have been fixed like steering assist and public lobbies have been fixed. Fixed career so you aren't broke all the time.
They threw in a track. Added some "challenges" to complete. Added rivals mode.
That takes it up to v3.1
The "autocross" and "track day" features are misleading...they're psuedo-autocross and psuedo-trackdays.
The unified tire physics system is new. Happy about that. Worked on suspension model too that's nice.
That takes it up to 3.2
Maybe they're just happy with beating the competition on other consoles but they are capable of so much more.
Doubt that would be possible at 60fps on the 360. I'm still incredibly surprised the game looks as good as it does now. Adding in the extra particle effects, lighting and handling calculations would surely push them over the edge. And with night racing, the lighting from the other cars would be a burden that I doubt they have the buffer for as well.Elfforkusu said:Nah, it's a nice track and (just as importantly) has a very nice color to it compared to all the boring (aesthetically) real world tracks.
Rain conditions, night racing. All will be forgiven Turn10. Do it!

sneaky77 said:I am sure they are, but also development time and budget is a finite resource.
I think there are always stuff they can fix / add but imo the game is looking good, hopefully they won't release another forza till next xbox release time, or a yr into it so they can really spend more time refining it.
sneaky77 said:According to the Forza Facebook page the achievements list is out

Season play goes to yr 10 aparently, didn't forza 3 only go to 5?

Owning the top 5 most expensive vehicles and winning a Unicorn auction as achievements are also ass.
How is that a Kinect-only achievement? You'll be able to take a photo in the homespace with a controller.DasRaven said:I appreciate synergy, but having a Kinect-required achievement is ass.

Yeah, I'm pretty fucking over the idea of unicorn cars, too. What's the point of having 600/700 cars in the game when some of the coolest ones are practically unattainable? Basing a cheevo around it too is kinda crappy.U n i o n 0015 said:Unicorn Hunter
Be the winning bidder on any "unicorn" car in the Auction House.
This is going to be the hardest achievement in the game. In Forza 3, the credit glitchers ran the unicorn auctions up to like 800,000,000 CR. Because of this, unicorn auctions were EXTREMELY rare.
I f**king hate the idea of unicorn cars.

What the fuck?!
FUCK THIS.
The principle. Every achievement should be accessible and attainable for all users without the need to buy peripherals. I don't recall seeing something of this sort for any other game before this.sneaky77 said:people still get that upset over achievements?
