There seem to be some new videos, some of which is on the ring , it is also possible to see some new cars and which I believe is a full list of tracks, and there's also a car customizer that you can play around with it. I wish MS released this as an Xbox2 title with full 60fps and FF wheel, instead of releasing it on May where it will most likely bomb. This game seems to be great nevertheless.

Seriously? I want a screen of that :)
I wish I had one (and I would be allowed to post it anyway), but I could not take any picture because of the car licensing issues.

"Yeah that's the NY track."

Look at the billboards, that's not New York... Unless the japanese invaded NY.
Whoops you're right. I just glanced at the screens and saw all those ads everywhere and just thought it looked a lot like the NY track.
<- stupid !

wow, who gets paid to make those videos. dull dull dull.

thanks blim for wrapping them all up together though

how do you guys play with a wheel?

sitting in on your lap is a pain and isnt very stable. have any of you built a table/stand for your wheel? any pics?

the night shots looks really similar to the GT4 shots from the night track there. eerie.

HOLY SHIT at the Shinjuku tracks!!!!!!!

That is EXACTLY what Shinjuku East looks like. Project Gotham did Shinjuku West (which is far less interesting IMHO).

But what amazes me is that the ads/neon/signage ARE ALL AUTHENTIC (Acom, JCB, Epson). PGR2 waffled out with fake signs because of the licensing nightmare. Bravo for getting more Japan tracks in the game, my interest in this just doubled.

(Fun fact: They wanted to include Yokohama's Chinatown district in PGR2 but gave up after they realized they would need to get licensing/permission from a number of chinese mafia bosses.)

edit: Is there actually a Mandarake on that stretch in real life!?

It's the new Gran Turismo!

the demo looked like complete shit on my HDTV, these pics look 100 x better so this is good.

Excpet the pics have always looked really good while the game has never looked as nice in motion. I dont expect the visuals to improve much over the demo. I hope this delay means either TFF wheel or 60fps :D

Yeah that's the NY track. I played the day version, it was terribly buggy but it looked very nice. With a giant Conker billboard :)

When you are allowed to capture and post screens, please please grab one of the Conker billboard :) I would love to see that, I just hope it is not a place holder!

Can you find out if it will make it into the retail version or not?

Wow...what's with the obscenely touched up shots? Seriously, the game will not look anywhere near that clean and nice on the TV. Shots are display copious amount of AA.

it's called taken straight from framebuffer and downsampled. It will give the effect of AA even if none is there.

Well PGR2 has AA and Forza is supposed to as well. Those shots are probably pretty accurate. You can see the blur halo around the trees due to the depth of field effect they are using.

You can say whatever you want about forza, but at least it doesnt use static backgrounds.
:lol

Hehehe, yeah. Cuz that would suck. I'm glad we don't have a racing game that does that. Everyone thought this one game had them, but man were those people dumb and proved wrong countless times.

damn, that sucks. are you sure? i hope not because it was horrible looking. i was thinking maybe it was just my HDTV making it look bad. That happens to some games for some reason, they just look awful in progressive scan for some reason. Fable and Haunted Mansion are some prime examples of games that look horrible in progressive scan but look fantastic when played on a standard, non-progressive television.

The reason why it looks like crap in motion is because it`s 30fps. Seeing how good these shots look it`s a disaster that it isn`t 60fps. Then it would have looked as good as these screens in motion.

I don't know about that. I agree 60fps is a ton better, but games like Project Gotham Racing 2 is 30fps and is gorgeous, so that doesn't seem to hold water.

The Forza demo just looked like shit ON TOP of the low framerate, so it was like a double edged shit whammy. Low framerate and bad graphics. You'd think having one would prevent the other, but apparently not.

It won't look better than the demo. Games seldom do. I've never once played an alpha build of a game (PS2, Xbox, GC) that had visual improvement in its beta build. Visuals are the first thing worked on and completed in development. Once that is complete, developers begin to work out stuff like physics, bugs, and whatever glitches they can find -- basically tightening the game up. But overall visual look? Nope.

I`d say they both have the same problem. They looked blurry and washed out in motion. Because of 30fps and too much AA.

It certainly didnt come close to this when I played it on my TV.

the demo is 6 months old and looks the same as the screen caps from 6 months ago.

The screen caps/vidcaps are tons better, and i'm willing to say the final game will look tons better.

Sorry to hear you need a new TV. Hope it works out for you!

The demo had temporary shaders for a lot of stuff, plus the fact that Laguna Seca is one of the least interesting track in the world visually.
The beta I played looked a lot better than the demo, especially when there is actually something to see in the track background other than dull brown dirt/grass. A lot of other effects also looked much better, like the sparks.

*yawn* Maybe you should learn what 30fps does to fast moving graphics.

the sparks looked like crap in the demo up close, but when i saw 2 cars in front of me battle it out and sparks were pouring out... they were amazing sparks.

Now there`s one thing I will give the game and that is that the camera work in the replays looks pretty good from these vidoes. Not close to being as great as in the GT games but certainly much better than in PGR2 and RSC2.

Realistic replays are very important, imo. And this seems to be the first game having pretty good ones on the Xbox since Sega GT 2002.

I dont think any amount of great graphics could prevent Laguna Seca from looking like shit, since it looks like shit in real life:
