Friday the 13th: The Game |OT| You and your friends are dead. GAME OVER

Just went on a spree where I killed all counselors/Tommy, then I went on and escaped six times in a row.

One time, I gave up my seat in the car to another guy. Good thing I did, because all four of them were murdered near the exit. I casually strolled to the car minutes later, started the engine, and waited for the other person left. He ended up getting attacked before I could make it, so I was the sole survivor: the final girl.

We also had two games where Jason killed nobody. I have no idea how it happened. At one point, all seven of us were running towards the cop cars and he didn't even Morph in front of us or attempt to stop us.

Man this game got huge potential, imagine if they actually had some proper backing from a publisher. I hope the community stays strong and hopefully by fall this game will be looking great.

This game went from not being on my radar at all to making me wanna at least try it out. Doubt I pull the trigger as my gaming time has gotten a lot more strained recently, but if nothing else, I'm enjoying the streams.

Had a lot of weird lag in my games tonight, kept hitting Jason but not stunning him. It's not uncommon usually but tonight it was like only one every four swings actually did anything. It also seems like the power stance melee is a lot slower, cause I feel like I get grabbed every time I do it, but never with the regular melee.

Found a group and played 4 or 5 rounds. This game is amazing. It has issues and everything but man did they nail it. Seriously its a blast and I'm looking forward to them expanding on the foundation.

Semi-stressful/hilarious round.

4/4
We get the 4 door car repair, wait and bring enough people to fill up the car (Be a good counselor!) Start driving and Freddy stops the car, everyone but me (driver) jumps out. I think everyone jumps in as they yell Go GO GO so I take off to find out I left one behind. Try to back up quickly while they run at the car and I run them over apparently.....Don't forget about the first person I run over.

3/4
Dodge Jason but hit a corner and have to repair the car. One of the people that jumps out doesn't make it. We continue on as I hear GO GO GO.

2/4
Jason warps and it does the fuzzy TV. during the fuzzy session Jason stops the car. Passenger jumps out but starts running away.

1/4 (just me)
Getting close to the exit, the passenger that ran away jumps out from the forest but I can't stop in time..... sorry....Never run in front of a moving car unless your Jason.

1/4 still....

Take a sharp left and I am free. Apparently waiting to fill up the car didn't do much as Jason and myself murdered the other passengers. Game ends and I hear "What the hell man you drove right by me." Confused I inquire more as everyone I saw eventually died. The first passenger that died respawned as Tommy. He ran to the exit so we could pick him up. While I took that sharp left, Jason was about to get the car again. He shoots Jason to disable him and runs towards the car. He was far enough away that I didn't hear him through game chat and I didn't have the walkie talkie.

Should've saved the clip, Should've saved the other counselors...Stressful as hell, funny as hell.

Edit: Should of was another mistake.....as Occam points out Should have or should've

Should of saved the clip, should of saved the other counselor

Sorry, but this error hurts my brain. It's "should have" (or should've), not "should of". Why would there be an "of"? How could that possibly make any sense to you while writing it?

Made the edit, thanks for pointing it out. For whatever reason I never shook "Should of"...

Is there any way to know for sure if Jason will see you glow red due to fear? I'm never entirely sure if it's worth trying to hide because the threshold for being scared enough to show up as red seems vague. I wouldn't mind seeing some kind of fear meter beyond the screen fading when your fear is at maximum.

They're removing the region lock on PS4 tonight.

That's awesome, I was worried that would be a non-trivial thing to fix if the EU/US versions were considered different SKU's for some reason.

Has anyone who got a PS4 code via Kickstarter/Backerkit been able to get the premium theme that's supposed to be included in the launch bundle? I got a EU PS4 code but I think the version of the game on the UK stores differs again, as it's still listed available for purchase rather than owned.

The game would feel so much less janky if there was some kind of indicator or way to know when it's ok to actually hit Jason. Combat looks so bad, people just swingnig weapons all over the place and nothing hitting jason until randomly something connects it feels and looks like. The stun animations also are really off. If there was something on Jason or animation wise that let you know when it's a window to hit him possibly. All the invincibility frames of animation when hes doing things doesn't help. It just looks dumb to be behind Jason and swinging and axe through him with nothing happening.

This also, so much of the game feels like I have no idea what state something is in. Am I actually hiding or just a big red flare for Jason? Can he hear me? What is my level of fear even doing?

One big change that needs to happen to Jason fast, he should not be able to grab you and instakill immediately at full life. It should just raise your fear quickly if you're at full life and stamina,or make it so you can't finish someone off until they are in the limping animation. Or if they don't want to change that then let Jason be interruptable during the kill animation.

Fucking sucks that the game doesn't recognize my mic. I want to play with communication but I can't. Hopefully patch fixes this. Xbox

Jason is too easy to play. I just did 7 games as Jason killed everyone except for 2 people in my last game when they escaped via boat within 3min of the game starting. Never even noticed them leaving.

It's almost boring tbh. Besides throwing knifes literally everything Jason does it the most overpowered shit ever in a multiplayer game. Having to use a pocket knife to pop a trap is the dumbest. But if you don't, I'll kill you. The map shouldn't show you which trap got stepped on.

Steam says I've played 38 matches as Jason. The badges say I've killed every counselor, 27 times out of those 38 matches. I dunno, I just don't think it should be like this.

Probably a first/second time Jason. I had something similar happen in beta. Councilors immediately got the car working while Jason was I guess checking around other spots. Cops got called. He'd pop up but was a slow Jason and didn't seem to use the abilities well. Everyone escaped.

It happens

Jason can be too strong with some elements, but it's also kind of the point. Jason is supposed to be overpowered, the counselors are supposed to be victims and afraid of Jason.

I do think some of his abilities timers should be increased and some things nerfed a little though.

Wait can you and another player have sex in this game?
(Then get horribly murdered)

That's pretty cool actually.

15min waiting for a game.
Managed to get into a game.
10 seconds in, I hear Jason's music and run towards a house for cover, as I'm reaching for the door a mother***** playing as the preppy guy locks it from the inside, looking at me while he does it, the sadistic son-of-a-bitch. Jason hits me, managed to get away, run around the house, throw myself through a window, run upstairs, get in the bathroom, close the door only for the game to glitch on me and close it while my character remains outside. Jason gets to me, snaps my neck.
10/10, would die again.

(in all seriousness, I'm glad I backed it, the idea is fun, has a lot of potential, but my god is it the biggest bug-fest I've played in decades. Can only hope they get the conditions to fix it, there's a great multiplayer game beneath it.)

the only time he is immune from getting hit is when he's in the middle of a kill animation or recovering from just getting stunned any other time hes open to be bopped

edit: also weapons have different stun chances on them they arnt all 100% stun every time weapons so some of those blows are most likely just damaging him( adds up to knock his mask off if enough damage is applied to him)

I've been thinking: I don't really want the Savini Jason in the game. Especially since he's looking like one of the "best" Jasons. I'm afraid that a lot of the time we'll be playing a Friday the 13th game against...not Jason.

I very strongly disagree. Ideally, Jason should kill almost all of the counselors, with only one or two getting away. That should be the perfect balance. An inept Jason should suffer, as he does, and a skillful Jason should thrive, as they often do. Counselors have a lot of tools, a lot of options, and a lot of space to work with.

If Jason was clearing house every game then I would agree, but as is I see that happen maybe once every ten games or so (and usually it is a well played game by that Jason).

Probably a first/second time Jason. I had something similar happen in beta. Councilors immediately got the car working while Jason was I guess checking around other spots. Cops got called. He'd pop up but was a slow Jason and didn't seem to use the abilities well. Everyone escaped.

It happens

I had almost everyone escape on me in the first minute. One set drove the two seater, the other drove the four. I was just trying to set a few traps in a few common hiding areas (and breaking down a door so that I could get in easier later). I couldn't believe how quick everyone got all the necessary parts. Dumb luck can lead to Jason getting blanked for sure.

That's an interesting idea actually.

Add "Sex" as a counsellor activity. Gives you extra points, but paints a huge bullseye for Jason.

Honestly, when I get in after a 15 minute damn wait and can play 4 games in a row with a decent/talkative group, this may be the most fun I've had with a multiplayer game since Left 4 Dead.

They just need to fix shit quick and add content and they can make this shit real solid.

I feel like finally getting to play as Jason after however many rounds as a counselor is a good release. After all the stress and frustration of trying to survive, you can just let loose. It's very cathartic.

It never seems like there's no GAF Xbox games. Anyone on Xbox one wanna play tonight a couple hours? Before game 1 of the finals preferably or after...

As much as I like the use of license, if the game is going to survive years it needs to play very loose with the rules of that franchise and take decisions which best serve the gameplay and keep things fresh.

I'd prefer lots of new traps, new Jason skins and I'd happily take abilities and characters that aren't from the movies... in fact I think that's essential.

It's compelling that every Jason player seems to have a unique style. One round, our Jason, in Abominable Snow Rabbit voice, asked counselors to come closer so he could "hug em and squeeze em and call em George." Another had a thick Southern drawl with phrases like "git o'r here," "dang nabbit" and "aw shucks." I felt compelled to throw some of my own sass into the role and upon arriving at a cabin with counselors in it, would yell "who ordered this hot and fresh pizza?". This game cracks me up.

I think some people believe Counselors are supposed to "win", when it's really a game about trying to survive as a Counselor. One or two getting away, is kind of the point, like in every horror film, the lone survivors. If a whole team somehow escapes, that Jason really screwed up. So yea Jason should be over powered, counselors should always die in every game.

I was thinking we need the telekinetic chick (from part 7 I think?) for a jason vs telekinesis battle. like she can spawn 3 minutes before the end to help the remaining counselors to survive. would be fun just watching it! also, some craftable traps would be nice, because everyone is going for the escape route (either phone, car or boat) and some elements are always missing, because they grab something (keys or fuse) and die in a stupid, hard to find spot.
They've already said plenty of times she isn't coming. Way too difficult to balance.

After I'll be on. Going to see Wonder Woman at 8 central and will be on after that. Feel free to add me, artbot2099

If conselors are coordinated and know the mechanics, Jason is up to a world of pain. With a friend we escaped 4 of 5 game last night.

A second way to kill Jason with Tommy Jarvis would be cool and I just tweeted the devs how to do it

"There's should be a lengthy chain and a large boulder that is found much like the car/boat parts.

The chain should be given to Tommy Jarvis and once the boat is repaired a counselor, with the rock, and Tommy can then go out in the water.

Once Jason comes and attacks the boat, Tommy can wrap the chain around his neck via prompts, and then the counselor attaches the chain to the boulder via prompts and releases it into the water, drowning Jason and ending the match."

Would definitely help combat the boat cheese, since you are pretty much fucked if Jason's knows the boat is going. Would definitely give him pause before teleporting immediately there.

I was going through the settings earlier and came across one under audio for "output sounds to world" or something along those lines. What's that mean/do?
