Full Auto is delayed (Xbox 360)

for europe, right? cause i see virtua tennis as sept 1, and that doesnt come out till november in the U.S.

On the G4 special at E3 the guy who was showing Full Auto said they were trying to make launch, but wouldn't hesitate to push it back if need be.

It's a world wide delay.

Interesting. I wasn't interested in the game in the first place, but I'm surprised because it seemed further along than most titles. Maybe they realized it didn't have a chance against the other dozen racing titles.

I heard they would have to remove some features if they wanted to be ready for launch.

I don't claim to know much about the industry, but here's a question to those who do. If Full auto was one of the few playable games at E3, and even fewer with a stable framerate, is it a bad sign that its being delayed? Could it be they're having trouble getting it ready on the Beta kits ? If this was the case, then wouldn't that spell trouble for the other launch titles that weren't far along enough to be playable at E3?

You hit the nail on the head here. Whole Xbox 360 launch is pretty much doomed.

The Full Auto developer I met at the Sega NYC conference said the game is ready for launch. It's up to Microsoft to approve it.

The SEGA rep I spoke to wasn't sure about the US release, but I can't see why they would release in 2006 in Europe and at launch in the US.

Maybe. It's a shame as it seemed like it would be a really fun launch game. Still, this christmas is going to be hectic enough, so a delay isn't too bad.

They aren't Blim already said it's a worldwide delay. About Test Drive, I didn't care for this title anyway, but these delays can only mean better sales for PGR3. I remember when 360 haters were laughing at the launch cause it was all sports and racing :lol That's 2 racing games off the list and NBA Live was pushed back a s well (although not by much).

I figured this would happen. 360 has a lot of racing games in the launch window already, I don't think Full Auto would have done very well going up against PGR3, RR6, Test Drive, NFS Most Wanted, etc... By making it a 2006 game they can put it out without much competition.

No one answered it BTW :) I don't mind delays because it only means quality titles in the near future and less money to spend at launch. With that said, if you delay COD 2 I will destroy you Activision... DESTROY YOU.

“Our development team has decided to take extra time to add some incredible new elements to Full Auto,” a SEGA of Europe statement explained. “As a result, the game will now launch in 2006 globally."

“We recognise there may be some disappointed fans, however we firmly believe this additional time will result in a much more enjoyable gaming experience."

:)

good news. there is typically a drought shortly after a new console is released, and this would be a good title to release at that period.

I like the updated Roadblasters potential of the game, but so many people are likely already going for PGR3, NFS:MW, RR6, or indeed some combo of those 3 that any other car-related titles are best off stretching out their release schedules.
