In case no one else was willing to risk it I can confirm that Xbox digital gift cards bought from Amazon or gifted from Bing CAN be redeemed on the Xbox Music app. Not sure how it is done via the mobile phone or tablet apps but on windows 8 just hold down the windows key and press I on your keyboard. Then select my account and click redeem code.

Snag the Windows 10 preview and set it up on a spare machine or VM.
The preview is free.
Yeah I see 50 now, and the 2$ sets and album are 30 each now. They were at 50 sets/albums each yesterday.
Also, I think they add 2 albums to the freebies, The Band Perry and Freedom since I was able to download this 2 albums today.
Had this problem last night with my wife's laptop. Turns out she had to update the Music App and convert her login into a MS login.
Works fine now.

I think that is the case if you didn't purchase it. I believe Xbox Music Pass allows you to stream any music in their library but not Physical Graffiti because of that restriction. But I "purchased" it and am able to play it using the cloud player just fine.

all i saw was the "100 Free Albums" which appeared textual. I didn't see any promotionary images for it in the apps. could easily be programmed into the system to calculate and display, i would think.
anyway, the albums/songs i was having trouble with yesterday are able to be downloaded now -- you guys should try the siamese dream and elton john albums again. the boxer also worked from the mumford & sons album.

I gotta try to track down all of the freebies and good box sets that have went missing all of a sudden. Incredible offer.
As noted above, there are two new FREE albums (Band Perry and Akon) and one new $1.99 Box Set (Neil Diamond).
However, I am having horrible luck trying to download these songs. Needless to say, the Xbox Music App for Windows 8 is a HORRIBLE experience. There are no settings, there is no way to see the queue of songs waiting to download, etc.
I have 2479 songs (that only cost $24.26) and I was able to download 1124 of those songs. Now it seems that nothing is happening. The one collection that I really wanted, 'George Strait: Strait out of the Box' download 57 of the 72 songs. I tried to download the other 15 manually by adding them to a playlist and downloading that, but nothing seems to work.
Please Microsoft, all I want is my George Strait to put in my Google Music Cloud, I can wait for the rest. haha

The green bar under the album art means I paid for it. The ablums with a pink bar (each is only one of the songs from the album) are a mystery as to how they showed up in my library.
Here's all of them from my downloads folder exactly as they're listed. Only one I'm not sure of is the Eagles one as I bought the box set and suspect it piggybacked on it.
No clue if these are still free or not but hope this helps any who missed the 100 set.
...how? I mean when I right click on those songs I only have "clear error". There is no option I try it again.

click the clear error over and over and then there should be a "download" button that replaces it once the error is cleared.
if the error isn't clearing just keep clicking it. if it isn't clearing after a few more clicks, then you were having the same issue i was having yesterday... just wait until later.
the album should stay in your account, so it'll eventually work is my thinking.

Well that's good then. Can save some space by deleting that one then as it's exact dupes of songs in the box set. Did them all in one shot and they all just blurred after awhile.
Also to add to the new but unlisted... Zac Brown Band - The Foundation is listed as free but was in neither list. So there may be others that are free that we never even saw.

Thanks. I actually figured it out after posting. I don't even want to think how many "clicks" I made to get all these albums. 5 each just for the ones that worked right. Haha. Oh well, if it's free its for me.
Looks like I have all 102 albums now. A bunch that worked didn't download for some random reason so I went through and made sure to download all those also.

yeah, its strange. the music app or the server is kind of bad at making sure everything is downloaded. sometimes i had to tell it to download a whole album because it didnt do it automatically like it should have.
sometimes there was 1 or 2 songs. and then there were songs i had on my computer already that it filled in and didn't download the high quality versions so i had to delete it from the library and re-download.
kind of a hassle. the organization is bad, too.

I'm still in the process of trying to download everything I claimed (64 out of 100 albums since I didn't manage to get them all before they pulled half) but since I don't have the greatest bandwidth I just set my laptop to do it overnight. The problem is that the app keeps stopping for no reason an hour or two after I let it go. Coupled with the inability to see the download progress, I have no idea how much I've left to go. The little bit of information I can glean (just the amount of songs remaining) keeps going up and down because it will occasionally and randomly sign out and back in, whereupon the count has to go back up from 0 to wherever it truly is.
Saw the bump and thought no way it'd be more free music. But god damn, it was more free music.
