Vintage Swishahouse chopped and screwed. Thugga, Cham, Paul Wall, Mike Jones etc.

EDIT: One of my favorite chopped and screwed tapes of all time right here. http://www.datpiff.com/PAUL-WALL-How-To-Be-A-Player-mixtape.126414.html Check it out. Every track goes. This is when dude was on fire with that screw rap. PW is one of the best screwed rappers out there.

Paul Wall sounds better chopped and screwed... which is kinda sad for him as a rapper.. :(

He has a new track that sounds pretty good tho..

The drums are straight 808's with effects on them. Depending on the sample, the drums gets adjusted(Effect wise)A lot of the kicks I like to use effects on them(Like reverb for instance to give it that extra boom)

Toku, lives in Florida and I'm in Harlem, NY. We feed each other beats and work from there. But the main dude is my boy Yang Zse, from the crew. Homeboy is doing beats daily. This little EP was a team effort as a whole from everyone. We're going to drop a Mixtape next month. With me and my boy spitting on it, and after that, my Witch House/Trill album. Going to link up soon with some DC and VA artist next month and try to make shit happen.

I'm going to send a PM soon and some good stuff.

I forget if you answered this, but what program do you use for drum loops? I know it was either you or toku that uses a ps3 or something. I forget lol.

Sometimes I rock the Music Generator for the PSone. I rock the HORI Stick for FLStudio for drums. Sanwa buttons>PADS. I use to rock a MPC and keys. But lost all my gear, including my DJ stuff and some music in LA.... Going to sell my video collection soon to get it all back(Neo Geo, PSone, Sega Saturn, PS2, DC..etc)

thats whats up. Which MPC did you have?

3k is the best. I was tryna get a 3k and was so close to buying one, but instead ended up getting the maschine seeing as the workflow on that is so much more faster/efficient. I also use an ASR-10

Ahh ok. This semester instead of writing music i want to get into the production side of things, so I was just curious. I tried FL a long time ago, but never seriously. Right now using Ableton and playing around with Logic/Garageband.

You did the right thing on getting the Maschine, shit is the truth. Going to try get the micro that just came out, soon. i had the MPC 2500. Don't miss it one bit since I fucked with the Maschine. How many drum kits did it come with pre-loaded?

alot but I don't even use those....wait..i think i did use the abbey roads kit once...but yea, theres a good amount of kits...i think like 10 cant remember, havent booted it up in awhile since I've been busy. But typically I dig records and make my own kits...it just takes so much fucking time to do though..... but yea....When I got to touch the maschine...the workflow was so much more efficient than on an MPC. And it was so much more affordable being that my PC was already a beast...it was a no brainer.

still love my asr-10 the best tho...asr-10 forever

<edit> 9 kits...and a bunch of other crap that I rarely use. lol

I stop looking for drums on records. instead, I go to a music shop with my own recorder, and record drums and kicks there instead. I adjust the drums there as well. And from there, tweaked them with filters and effects on my program. But I never looked for drums on records anyway, I look for loops, breaks, or some crazy effects and shit.

To hit up a gear shop with your own recorder, that's pretty damn intuitive.

Already gave it a run through, love it. On a related note, I listened to your poppy1 mix like 5 fucking times all the way through over two days recently, it made me want to have a house party, anytime you feel like making more I will download happily.

reposting for new page because I'm an attention whore
and because deleting all my old videos lost me all my old views :(

I had to reupload all my videos with static images without my face because I realized having my ugly mug all over youtube probably wasn't a good idea being a teacher and all. So I figure I might as well take the opportunity to link em all here. I uploaded a bunch of older stuff and two new tracks I had only linked previously via mediafire.

The Missbreedz playlist (myself and my partner who raps in spanish)

WJYRk.jpg

With the tracks:
Two Drunk Boyz
Coyote
Doesn't Concern You
Fuck Los Missbreedz
Gawdamn
Get Off My Lawn
Little White Houses
Nine To Nowhere
Vicioso

And the Siddx Solo playlist

With the tracks:
Definition
Fuck You In The Eye
I'm Not Crazy
Let The Door

Hello Hip-Hop GAF! I'm looking for some recommendations; I listen to Childish Gambino and follow him on twitter where he posted a NY Times article about women breaking into the Hip Hop scene. I listened to all the artists linked in the article but only really like K.Flay - I think my tastes are pretty broad - but I'm looking specifically for something along those lines; a little bit slower, more on the "poetry" side of rap. Sorry this is a bit vague; but I'm kind of going in blind into this whole thing.

I think you might be my personal favorite gaf-hop rapper out of everybody it's like Soul Khan if he listened to a bunch of ODB and Devin the Dude.

...Any links to a full mixtape archive, especially for Wait What?

Childish Gambino is pretty much the antithesis of slow poetical rap.

Check out: Shabazz Palaces, Zeroh, Melo-X, ScienZe, Blu, Apollo Brown, Shad, Common, The Roots, Co$$, Dessa, Vordul Mega, Bread's War of the Mind.

hahaha thanks, thats seriously an awesome description.

a link to the older stuff (missbreedz) is in the description in all the missbreedz videos. As for wait what, I am still working on it so I don't have a finished tape yet. I have about 6 songs so far, two of which I'm not 100% sold on so I didn't upload them (Jesus Fucking Christ is one of them, which I linked before but I need to rerecord and maybe change the beat)

The other I didn't upload to youtube is called What You Want, I need to redo the first verse I think.

I hope to get my shit together and record some more stuff so I can finish wait what.
