I still don't hear this terrible mastering everyone talks about. Do yall hear clipping or what?

Someone wanna give me timestamp examples of when it stands out? I mean it's loud as hell but so is pretty much every other popular album in the 2000s

Can't argue against that even if you liked the album. The mastering is godawful.

Wasn't Cruel Summer's itunes version mastered and not the others? Is there a version of MBDTF that is mastered or mastered better?
That's correct. The iTunes version has a few extra tweaks to it. I bought the physical CD and the iTunes version.

Was the CD on par with the iTunes edition?
Kanye pulled the iTunes version before the actual release to add tweaks to it. To be honest I prefer the iTunes version because Kanye added a few extras that's all. The physical CD of Cruel Summer alright if you want the actual but knowing Kanye added tweaks to another version, as in the iTunes version. I definitely would say its better.

iTunes version has additional production, additional singing (especially John Legend on Sin City = Godly), additional synths, better reverb and shit, also the hook on The One is way better (drums ruined it in physical version).

Bliss sounds different vocally, apparently according to the song's writer Omarion added background vocals to Teyana Taylor's chorus at the beginning before John. Cold sounds more clear.

first thing I thought of

What kind of shit is that? Most people want to borrow sugar or even ketchup. You wanna borrow my car? Hell no!

So are rappers really going to replace no homo with Frank Ocean? Kind of funny and fucked up at the same time lol. I heard Game make a reference or something off Jesus Piece and remembered Wayne replacing it too.

What happened to Weezy's ghostwriter?

He has been cringe worthy bad in 2012

I was the first poster to do that btw, months ago. Game biting my swag

Yeah, it's like he hired a ghostwriter to exam the stuff he did in the past and tried to recreate it. Wayne was at least listenable to me about 3 or 4 years ago, but nowadays dude just completely ruins songs for me. Hell, his verses on those French Montana singles just ruin the pacing of the song to me.

He was always bad but at least had some "he he that's aight" punchlines..

Now we get stuff like this

Wet work, got the kitchen stanking
We call a undercover, a pig in the blanket
Uh,lifestyles of the rich and famous
Shoot you in ya head like Abraham Lincoln
Stuntin on them bitches like Birdman
Roll the weed in white sheets,Ku Klux Klan

Uh, ain't it crazy how shit be
Thats why I flush it
I got the Tommy gun with the drum
Thats percussion

Yeah he was always kind of bad, but he was entertaining at the very least. I mean Da Drought 3 is personally one of the most entertaining tapes I've heard. I can still listen to it till this day and just laugh at how ridiculous some of the things he would say, but yeah nowadays he's really cringeworthy.

Those verses you posted ace are so bad lol. Lil wayne drops so many "life is a bitch" type lines too. It is ridiculous. I'll give feedback on the Game mix tomorrow btw.

Yeah, I didn't mind it, but I've heard that song so many damn times already haha.

Cruel Summer is weird as fuck. Not only is the iTunes version remastered, but it also features redone verses and small changes to beats in some places. No well-mastered MBDTF version exists, it was done in a rush after late changes.

I still don't hear this terrible mastering everyone talks about. Do yall hear clipping or what?

I don't hear it either.

Not to snitch or anything but DY said Friday sucked...just so you know
DY_Nasty also said Tupac was a pussy in the original MvC3 OT. Forever immortalized. Also notable is spin's rendition of Triumph and a dude who gave up a lesbian threesome for some Marvel.

I'm not gonna repost my review a second time, but I think the consensus is that it's good, and I personally think it is his second best album, though I don't know if it will make my top ten...

Yep, it might end up making my top 10 we'll see.

Bootleg Frank Ocean on Can't Get Right was great. Fuck I love some of the beats on here. It really is like a studio mixtape.

Maybe it's just me but these smaller time producers have been making more enjoyable songs for me this year. Kendrick's album had better beats from in-house than the Pharrell and Just Blaze shit.

Clams Casino, Harry Fraud nuff said.

After listening to both Big Boi albums for the first time relatively back to back, I think they're relatively the same, though I'm kind of liking Vicious Lies more just because it has more songs I really like on it.

Sir Luscious Leftfoot has a funkier, more experimental sound as others have noted, so it sounds a bit more creative and probably fresher at the time, and the highs may be a tiny bit higher (Shutterbug namely). But I feel like Vicious Lies is more consistent with Lines, Mama Told Me, She Hates Me, In the A, Gossip etc. and more songs at that top level, on top of the hooks being inarguably MUCH better than those on Sir Luscious Leftfoot all across. However, it is a bit more singy-songy in bits, and "soft" (not that Leftfoot was hard necessarily) for lack of better words, which I can see dissuading people. Also, Sir Luscious Leftfoot sounds more.. OutKast-ish than Vicious Lies which is more traditionally pop-ish overall, so that's another reason I can see people preferring it.

Very preliminary impressions, but that's the vibe I'm getting.

exactly and whenever I ask for timestamps I get no response.

I guess people just like to hate on shit
I know for a fact that it has a tinny sound that makes me have to adjust the gain and high on my mixer

I agree with most of this, I'll do a write up for my top ten.

I feel like I am the only one who loves that Pharrell beat off Kendrick. Shit kind of gives me a film noir type vibe.

I actually really like it, feels like someone else should be on it though. However, Kendrick is stellar on it.
