Maybe this isn't the place for this... But I have a lot of free time, thinking of starting a hip hop blog. Not for money or anything just to entertain myself. Bad idea? Tips? I don't know shit about web design.

You should do track-by-track album reviews using nothing but images.
Or maybe you shouldn't.
But you probably should.

It's a great way to get your word out there. There's blogspot and wordpress but I feel like they don't have as much exposure as they once did.

Tumblr is more a visual format than wordpress though. Anyhow my advice is use a free blog program until you start to have consistent readers. The only expense you might want to think about is buying a URL and that only if you have a really good name for it.

Also this is old but I just saw it Rick Ross Clown Testimony on the origin of his name.

Ross then explained, “When I became All American, by the time I was in sophomore, I was the Big Boss. The Biggest Boss. That was a nickname.”

At some point following his 1994 graduation, Ross testified, “a friend” mistook his nickname to be “Rick Ross,” not “Big Boss.” The deposition does not further identify this purported friend or the level of his hearing deficiencies.

“And when he said, when he brought it up to me, it became my moniker. From Big East to the Big Boss, the Biggest Boss for my senior year, I was All American. When I finished high school and pursued music, it came into Rick Ross. So this is ’96.”

i just don't believe the Tumblr community is interested in writing, based on my experiences.
shit people don't actually have to deeply engage with works well. pics, music, gifs, porn, etc.
i guess it depends on what type of writing you're doing. i'm just not a fan. hence my almost 15 month absence from Tumblr.

just a few things i noticed when i considered into blogging.
disclaimer: i look at these things from a PR person's standpoint. i'm probably overthinking it tbh.

Start a YouTube channel breh. I've been really interested in starting once actually, and getting that YouTube money.

I would love for a Dead End Hip Hop Segment, or something like the Needledrop, would even be down to write material for it.
You mean for GAF hop to do something like them? Would be cool in theory, but not being able to get all of us on camera would make it so boring. We'd have to resort to screen capturing a tiny chat session lol

If you need some tips or help lemme know. Still trying to pull this Acemixes stuff together, but I should have some free time soonish.

where is the 'underground' in rap/hip-hop? is there such a thing? i mean obviously there's tons of people trying to make it and yeah there's massive amounts of music that go unnoticed, but is there some outlet that aggregates the good shit, and in a way that doesn't immediately disqualify it from that label?
it seems like nowadays it's just like if someone's putting out decently appealing music they blow up fairly quick, it's hard for good stuff to not get recognition i think.

the only person i can think of that's truly 'underground' is dude i posted about before Jak Progresso. he's got like 12 or more albums out of some fully developed, super creative, really interesting material and still only has a following of probably 20 people and he'll never probably go over that just because his subject matter is so ...out there.

Underground, a word that was primarily used for differentiation in the past, doesn't hold much weight anymore because of the internet.

I mean take rocky for example, he put out ONE video and blew up. Is it even possible to be good and not get recognized anymore?

but are the sexy japanese girls fucking with him. that's always been my contention, that blackace don't get asian pussy
lol that's funny you would think that

Also Siddx missed the best/worst part of the early morning fuckery
