I want to be excited cause Kool G Rap is one of my favorites of all time, but we'll see how it turns out.

I feel the opposite. When he just raps like he talks with that full range of pitches or whatever, he has a lot more personality than just rapping in one tone and not really enunciating, etc. It's a big part of his appeal IMO.

Detroit State of Mind is excellent, and it seems like he's returning to that style (at least, on this track). I get that his head voice distinguishes himself from other rappers, but I'm glad he changes it up.
I do wish we got this raw Danny Brown more often. Wish is, ironically, exactly what he's talking about on the new track.
I've been coming back to this album a lot recently. I honestly like it as much as Section 80
