That's cause it sucks. Seriously, it's horrible at even basic gameplay and all the QT prompts are dumb and are used for everything from taking a piss to getting up from a fucking chair. The only thing a game like that should be at is plot and voice acting. Yet the former is beyond terrible compared to even any game(which suck at plot in general due to being games) and the VA is worse of all time status.

David Cage's presence in general is a gigantic hanging L on the face of video games. Shit is completely awful, putrid crap that needs to be erased for us to move forward as a species.

I know people like to stan the work with DJ Polo, and I also love that stuff and I can definitely see why it's more influential, but I just think that G Rap reached this incredible rapper nirvana pinnacle on 4,5,6. Just listen to that shit brehs. One listen, and you immediately understand why ALL y'all favorite rappers stan this guy. Jay-Z, Nas, Eminem, whoever man. This is the art of the emcee, right here.

Executioner Style was in my iTunes top 10 most played last time I checked. Shit is grisly but majestic at the same time.

I remember reading a story about Big Pun literally getting down on one knee to kiss G Rap's ring when he first met him (and his influence is pretty blatant on Capital Punishment). Definitely one of those "your rapper's favourite rapper" dudes who doesn't get enough recognition when lists and rankings are made, alot like Phaoahe Monch, who has also a claim for most technically gifted imo.

You can evaluate it from so many different levels; as a consequence of moral, legal, mortal, socioeconomic factors. Being a nerd, nobody but other nerds cares about that shit. Nobody cares about how you like to read comic books or level pokemans. It's of no consequence. Total difference in gravitas.

Being totally honest, I'm not criticizing Jay's subject matter. I love so much gangster rap, just rustling jimmies when possible.

Honestly though, F&L covers a shit ton of topics. Lot of range on that album, the cover kind of emulates that. Just looking at the track list: songs about pressure to make "real" music, lot of coming of age, love, television control, random nerdy fantasy, death, commentary on hip-hop, commentary on America/racism, parental influence, contemplation on religion. Probably missing quite a few things.

Lupe is completely a corn ball, always was (I can recognize that much easier now) but he was more than just nerd rap. Of course, despite often appealing very easily to that demographic. Dude is lyrically on point too, a lot of interesting word play. Hurt Me Soul is still one of my favorite songs ever. The Cool is better than F&L though.
