The first drink I ever threw up was bourbon, I haven't been able to enjoy it since. Is Scotch very different?

Uhh, I think you'll find it harder to drink. Bourbon is a lot sweeter, smoother, and more buttery usually. Scotch is more smoky/salty/peaty.

I figured scotch was always the last train stop. I'll start drinking it when I write my memoirs.

Heems Rap monument

Chicken and Waffles are good. Not a fan of grits though but I may have had shitty ones. J Cole's album has 3 songs I might actively listen to, the rest is what I expected from Cole. I'm also relistening to Logics album and it's equal to J Cole's release, both nothing special but inoffensive. I might give Logic the edge as i see them as having similar qualities in that "everyday man rap lane." And that J Cole line about the Grammys had me nodding in agreement and I was feeling it heavy, then he said just kidding and it nearly ruined the track.

keep tryin to check out new cole shit but i have to operate heavy machinery so you know

damn still no impressions on souls of mischief or roots?

oh yeah, don't wanna say shit about Pete Rock right now either, ugh

also: DJ buddy hooked up a ton of classic vinyl this week (black album, its dark & hell's hot, stillmatic etc), so so happy

I'd rather get another batch of solo albums from Mike and El-p than another RTJ so quickly. Let the last album breath more brehs, no need to rush.

honestly, ill take whatever - R.A.P & cancer 4 cure were both fantastic, literally happy about whatever this camp does right now

i don't get it - kriss kross, brat, x, bow wow, how many people did he bring up & eat off of? when you're around this long, i assume you've got a solid accountant/your money right, shit's crazy

here for this

You must like Guinness

only when it's poured right

Just watched the Cole performance on Letterman.

Kind of powerful, not in a KTT kind of way either. Kind of corny Letterman comes up afterwards like YOU KNOW WHAT I MEAN, YOU KNOW WHAT IM SAYING.. like wtf?

Caught me off guard, I'm surprised there's no backlash to that. I heard Angie talking about how Letterman seemed kind of emotional at the end, so I go and watch it and that's the first thing that comes out of his mouth. Like, what.

I can't understand yo.
Like I remember seeing that Chipotle episode of South Park and thinking.
Fuck do white people really think this shit's hot? Like for real?
Then I remember my girlfriend who is plain white bread status and she definitely can't take anything other than my spicy Mexican sausage.

DJ Premier and Royce Da 5'9" Juan Epstein Cliffs:

- They get into the room at the 30:00 mark
- General creepiness about Rosenberg's relationship with Tinashe and another upcoming female artist (mostly in the preamble)
- Talk about Boom and Full Clip being "big in Europe" lol
- Both of them getting a "paid to do it" cheque when the label forced them to put the hook on Boom
- Talk DJ Premier's porn habit. He says its the end of an era, probably giving away his 1000s of DVDs, might keep his Top 10/15
- Adrian Yonge is there too, they get him to tell his best Ghostface story (apparently in an older Juan Ep, someone explained why Ghost always wears sweatpants under his regular pants?) and he talks about Ghost ad libbing another rapper getting his ass whooped outside a club by security
- Royce has been sober for 2 years, still goes to therapy every week
- They did the new Slaughterhouse album, finished it, showed it to Em, and he said "you're almost there," so they're really like at 60% right now. "I dont think Marshall thought we had a first, second, or third single"
- Lately Preem is back to one phrase scratches (Ciph hates when he does multiple)
- Guru talks about their fuckfests in Europe
and Guru having to clean them up
- Jay Z calls Preemo "Memory Man" because of all of his stories
- Jay Z wanted all of Group Home's beats
- Represent on Illmatic is actually a remix, Nas wanted the bassline of the original
- Em called Preemo because he really wanted a Gang Starr record on the 8-Mile soundtrack, discuss the remix to Battle
- Preemo's favourite Jay track he did is A Million and One Questions, talks about how Jay described how he wanted it even before there was a beat and the Premier sessions, Jay recording hooks over the phone, etc.
- They spend a good amount of time just reminiscing over classic Preemo beats as they keep acting like they're gonna give Royce some time and save Preemo's stuff for a proper Preemo Juan Ep lol
- Preemo talks doing the Limp Bizkit Remix Album only because he heard Meth was on it lol
- Preemo talks about how they used to outrun cops for fun "I'm a good driver"
- Hot N***a is RIAA certified platinum, Prhyme like that he's successful, young and did it without a hook because if he went anywhere with that record they would have told him to put a hook on it

I listen to almost no rap but just now am listening to Run the Jewels 2 and it is unreal, anything similar to this? I don't know what it is about it (I think it is the production in combination with the rapping)

This Cole interview with Angie is pretty good. Talks about capitalism and the balance between the bullshit and conscious rap. Pretty much says he can't fuck with anything that isn't conscious anymore, but he can appreciate it.

He thinks right now is the time where the commercial shift is happening; says he went to iTunes to find out what's popping in jazz right now and the entire page was like 97.5% white people, and he thinks that is what will happen to rap very soon. Doesn't necessarily blame Em or Iggy, thinks people missed the point of that song.

Congrats man, feels good doesn't it? What are you taking? I'll be done on the 19th and then I'll treat myself to some brews

That being said, what's your guys favorite drinks? I tried Guinness recently and it was awful... I usually stay with Heineken

comp sci. good luck on your next week.

guinness is great as long as you don't try it out of a can. can't believe you prefer heineken over it. yuck brah

Meeh, I don't see how that could happen in rap..
Nobody sells shit in Jazz which makes it possible for industry people to push white artists

i've come around on white rappers lately, if only because they may as well not exist to me.

i'll never be totally worried about white people taking over rap because they're looking for something different in the music than what we are for the most part. if anything black people would abandon ship and let white people have the remains of hip-hop's carcass. basically it would mean that there's been a major shift in black and white social cultures.

also i don't think white people really want black people to be pushed out the game anyway but that's another story.

You talking about what Cole said?

dat edit

Kendrick said the album is pretty much done and the Cole collab is still happening
“These corporations and these labels they’ll grab these kids that have raw talent and take their one song, they don’t care about developing them,” he said. “Matter of fact, they don’t give a f*ck about their raw talent, they just taking their song that has buzz, putting it out on the net and putting a price on it. Then once the single dies down, they push these kids to the left that just made them millions of dollars.” - See more at: http://hiphopwired.com/2014/12/12/k...siness-collab-album-way/#sthash.Vwrvg32I.dpuf
