GAF-Hop |OTXVII| I don't really care if /mu/ cry

My doctor told me to stop
And he gave me somethin' to pop
And I mix it up with some Adderall's
And I wait to get to the top
And I mix it up with some alcohol and I pour it up in a shot

Such an underrated album.

I went back and listened to Watching Movies with the Sound Off again. Out of the 3 albums that dropped on that day, I definitely bumped Yeezus and Born Sinner way more, but now I wanna say that Mac's project was better than both of those.

Wish he would return to this type of sound but doesn't seem like he has any intention to. That album is so good.

One of my favorites that year. Over BS and Yeezus. Definitely his best album. WIth Macadelic being a close second. It’s a shame he hasn’t come close to anything like that since.

That production (especially the Clams Casino beats), whew

Mac's chill, but the production is fucking incredible on that project.

I don't think Flashing Lights is the best Ye song period, but it is indeed a jam and is definitely somewhere in the top 5.

I Wonder is really growing me; I might put that over Flashing Lights at this point.

He didn't even produce it, he added the strings at the start and the singer.
It's grouped in with Devil In a New Dress as the best Kanye songs he didn't really have a hand in doing much too, besides lyrics.

And we can't forget Down and Out.

Probably my biggest WTF moment when it comes to learning about songs that Ye didn't produce it. Otherwise would have been and kinda was one of my favourite Ye productions.

might just be my nostalgia goggles + seeing it in the GTA4 commercial as a youngin' but you know opinions and all lat

still went to a club in SoHo and they played that shit and everyone got off their seats. as a matter of fact that 5 song run to open up Graduation (good morning to good life) is beyond dope

I dunno if I would put flashing lights in top 5 kanye

The definites for me though are Hold My Liquor, Never Let Me Down and Welcome to Heartbreak

Agreed, I wasn't really a fan of Mac Miller until I heard that album. It's his best work to date for me. Production is on-point across the board. Personally I really vibe with "Someone Like You" & "Red Dot Music". Dude really improved a lot as an artist, I'd wrote him off as frat boy rapper up to that point.

It's crazy to go back and listen to Kanye on the "Last Call" outro. Dude has came so far. Listened to College Dropout, Yeezus, and MBDTF today. They never get old. Ye's verse on "Get High" caught me off guard too, been a while since I listened to the whole album.

I made a top 20 or 25 Kanye tracks list in one of these threads within the last few years but I can't find it. Whatever.

Hold My Liquor >>>>>>>

Street Lights is Top 1 song of all time material, but Kanye has plenty Top 1 songs.
And we can't forget Down and Out.

I had an existential crisis when I found out that Kanye didn't produce Down and Out.

Gotta check that album out properly. Really liked Mac's last albums. Had a completely different image of him before those. His old mixtape someone posted here was nice too:
