Damn, that last video makes ICS look sooooooo nice and smooth. How is there no information whatsoever about the launch of this in North America. Besides that Verizon will get it, but no longer exclusively.

God, now I think I will buy the nexus. How much do you guys think it will cost in europe? with and without contract

Without contract you can pre-order now at HandTec for £510. I already have. It's cheaper than Clove and Amazon. On Contract expect £35 per month.

The Galaxy Note is going to be sooooooo awesome on ICS. I just hope they don't muck around with the UI too much and put in the horrible Touchwiz icons. I love that ICS has native stylus support too.

What about Eurozone? (living in the Netherlands) 510pounds is a lot of euros :S

Couldn't tell you. Is there a Dutch website that specialises in selling sim free smartphones?

P.S I still consider Britain to be part of the Eurozone even if we don't use the currency!

These hd screens are amazing. I could probably replace my iPad with them (at least until the iPad3 comes out) if Android had its own version of Newsstand.

Nice observation. You can see this at ~6:14 as well. I wonder if this works with more than three tabs. What if you could scroll through them within the multitasking window!?

God damn, its fast and smooth as hell. Really want to get my hands on whatever revision is the one shipping with the phone. The SDK doesnt nearly do that justice. Its extremely fast.

White was white on my Nexus S and it was Pentile. First world problems eh?

And when in the presence of an HDTV you can play movies back on the big screen using a micro USB to HDMI cable. Awesome eh? I do hope the next version of Android includes DNLA. I want to stream wirelessly. No cables please.

I found the whites a bit blueish on my Captivate.

The black levels sure look great, as expected. I'm hoping for an announcement on pricing and release on Canadian carriers soon.

Man, the UI seems so smooth in the Greek videos. Impressive.

I wonder if it's just that new phone look and response though. After awhile of use it seems the phones (maybe Android) start to get less and less responsive.

I've had the exact opposite experience. Whenever I load up a new rom, my phone starts off slow. Once it caches a lot of information, it flies.

So.

Does anyone else think that other manufacturers will keep the capacitive buttons on their ICS phones next year? (I mean, when they update touchwiz and the like to ICS)

This phone is able to pull it off so well because of those amazing black levels. It blends into the bezel so well, you need a light source and an angle to tell where one stops and the other starts damn near. That aint gonna work with non OLED screens with those shitty lit blacks. Ill bet most of the others go with capacitive keys and likely smaller screens with the same high res, since they wont have to worry about issues with pentile.

You can't see the green unless you are zoomed in... beyond what you can do with your eye

This doesn't make sense. Are you saying it looks white with the naked eye but when you zoom in on it, it turns green? That doesn't sound possible or logical.

IIRC, if you set the resolution to <720 in the emulator you don't get the software buttons. I would assume that 720p or higher you get software buttons, lower resolutions stick with hardware.

Oh shush, I was imagining "stacks" like functionality with browser tabs from the app switching menu. Whatever, that would be sweet and all it made me do is wish that was actually a feature.

The main, bigger pixels on the screen are red and blue, the smaller subpixels are green. The only way to see the green colors are with a microscope/macro camera (they're that small). The green color is not visible to my eyes on my nexus one.

EDIT: Looks like live wallpapers make the stock launcher choppy like usual. I don't use them for that reason and it would've been nice if this phone wasn't troubled by that :(

Seriously though I do agree, it really is shining in the newer videos and looks like the perfect blend of Android on a phone.

LTE version doesn't have a Samsung logo, it's got verizon's 4G LTE logo under the camera and the Google logo below that.

So what are you guys gonna paint over the LTE logo? I haven't decided yet. I'm not going to have a phone proudly displaying 4G when there is no 4G.

e: Or maybe I could buy a replacement back for the GSM version!

It also has a HIGHER pixel density than the Nexus and comes @ 1.5GHz. Seriously--- did anyone post this?!?!?!?!
How can this be possible when the screen size and resolution are exactly the same?

And I wouldn't be surprised if the S2 HD and the Galaxy Nexus will share the same screen.

GSII is Super AMOLED Plus which is RGB, not PenTile. So it has higher pixel density than Galaxy Tuna.
That's subpixel density, not pixel density. The SII HD is still PenTile.

More complete fucking fail from the powers that be at Google/Samsung.

The carriers seem to now be confirming that the 32GB Galaxy Nexus will not be coming to the UK. So we can only buy the 16GB version.

-1 Customer there chaps bravo.

I told you the lack of SD slot is crippling. Wait for the superior HTC/Motorola version.

I just don't know why they do this. If they don't want an SD Slot in there then at least give us the 32GB.

They are gimping the phone on one side of the pond for no good reason.
