Game director who destroyed Dragon Age franchise sets eyes on Baldur’s Gate franchise next

So the latest is that Corinne Busche has been hired by Wizards of the Coast as game director, and given that Larian has declined on making Baldur's Gate 4, this probably means WOTC will be internally making that title with Busche in charge of the project.

Thanks to Mr Moose for adding the link.

Imagine being responsible for a massive failure but they still hire you for the same exact job, moments later.

This is how stupid activists are. They can't help themselves.

Thank the Maker he didnt go to the EXODUS studio since they are under Wizards of the coast, you know, to ruin even the Mass Effect alternative.

That and thinking that some franchise name means anything when you go out of your way to subvert it.

Wouldn't really be surprising with this being Wizards of the Coast.
Honestly, I hope they put a ton of money into a new game, then realize Baldur's Gate 3 did so well because Larian made an awesome game, and not because of the IP.

When people are struggling as much as they are to find work in gaming, how does this talentless drag queen shoot straight to the top?

Oh. WOTC.

If you liked BG3 it isn't really BG you liked, it is Larian.

DOS2 is closer to BG3 than BotW is to TotK. You just never knew.

Good for Larian, getting out from under the Woke Thumb.

Another one of those funny posts where someone can't tell who you're talking about. Grifters? X Leakers? Grummz? Debunkers? Journos? The director? All of the above?
His body language tells he's a grifter, he's doing the easy part, why should I trust him? nobody should.

The new Uwe Boll

i had no idea john hight was the president over there wtf

mildly surprised it's such a DEI shitshow with him there but i guess that's one way to get the blizzard breast milk stink off him

Past few months I've taken deliberate interest in identifying a particular list of directors, leads and writers.....which i will be avoiding any and all projects they are involved with.

Want the news headline to sound legit? Add BREAKING at the start

EDIT: I have no idea if it's real or not. Show the receipts first or shut up till you can.

At first I thought, "Oh no, they were associated with Baldur's Gate 3, weren't they? Why the hell would they hire him?" But apparently, Wizards of the Coast has a terrible track record as far as wokery goes, so I suppose it makes sense. I'm not a PC or D&D guy, so I wasn't aware. I'm glad to hear Larian put distance between them.

There's a lot of nepotism or patronage in the gaming industry, rather than meritocracy. A writer can destroy a franchise, then get another job no problem. It's not what you know, it's who you know...
