What is the biggest gaming franchise that is now a dead franchise?

Halo has had it rough.

People saying Halo is funny cause Infinite.

Top tier FPS gameplay.

Some live service design choices do bog it down. Far from dead though.

The Queue times are insanely bad. No one is playing it let alone talking about it other than us lot on forums to pass the time while at work LOL.

Medal of Honor is an interesting one since it came back in 2020 after an 8 year hiatus, so it makes me wonder if it's in another hiatus right now.

Medal of Honour growing up on PS1 was ground breaking… wasn't a person that had a console that didn't know the title.

Battlefield should just offshoot their SP to a Medal of Honour discounted title and do BF as multi.

Am not playing it either. I've had my fill. As I said its issues mostly stem from live service part, which makes it hard to keep playing.

But its hardly dead. New game is in development that will be released alongside new system. Opposite of dead.

They probably still haven't learnt a thing from Infinite. Yet it will win GOTY on GAF. Cause it will likely be enjoyable to play.

Final fantasy.

Metal Gear Solid (let's face it, without Kojima a Metal Gear 6 wouldn't be half as good as MGS4 and Peace-walker..)

Blur
Split Second
Wing Commander (instead we have Scam Citizen)
Dead Space
Guardians of the Galaxy
Command and Conquer
Transformers
Ridge Racer

For me it's not that I'm saying people don't play it.

It's just the brand felt iconic during the xbox/360 generations and I feel it has far less weight in the current public domain.
So you explained that it's not dead, even thou you said before that is...

...drunk?

Mass Effect
Dragon age
Pubg
Madden/fifa (brain dead)
God if war
Horizon
That space game on pc that actually isn't a game yet since it's been in early access for 20 years

Time Crisis I guess?

Because I remember the game was pretty hyped in the arcades and also on consoles back in the 90's and 00's, but their last game was released like a decade ago in 2015, and seeing how arcades are declining right now, I kinda doubt the franchise would make a comeback.

Lots of franchise I consider dead.
Final Fantasy is the grandpappy of them all.
followed by
Halo
Mass Effect
Dragon Age
God of War sadly, Ragnarok will be my last.
Pokemon, Nintendo slopped this into the grave.

Brothers in Arms
Half Life
Portal
ARMA
Bioshock
Castlevania: Lord of Shadows
C&C
Deus Ex
FEAR
Prince of Persia
Splinter Cell
Rainbow Six

Biggest one for sure

A tragedy even. What have they done to this franchise.

Might not be "dead" as per adamsapple adamsapple ;) but dormant I would say, I don't consider whatever 343 is doing as existing.

Remember when Nintendo hired Sega to make an F-Zero game and it was so good, Nintendo was too scared to ever make another one?

Nintendo… just hire Sega again.

As a huge Halo nerd, I'd say Halo.

It was the game back when Bungie was still doing Bungie things.

Halo was as big as CoD in the ps360 era (sales and numbers don't lie).

Halo 3 was the biggest debut in entertainment history.

Now it's this:
