So MGSV really is his final MGS ? ...
I'm sad.
2015:
Nintendo announces partnership with DeNA.
Konami shutter Kojima Productions and Hideo Kojima leaves game development.
Capcom stops all business development in preparation for Nintendo acquisition.
2016:
Nintendo purchases Capcom, Capcom now the Monster Hunter mobile app development studio.
Nintendo merges with DeNA and Shigeru Miyamoto retires from games development to teach at Tokyo Polytechnic.
Reeling after ceasing development on Metal Gear Rising 2, Platinum works on licensed anime game with six month development cycle. Game sits at 61% on Metacritic.
2017:
Kadokawa Corporation pivots away from media to invest in burgeoning smart rice cooker market. Closes FROM. Hidetaka Miyazaki joins Miyamoto and Pac-Man creator Toru Iwatani at Tokyo Polytechnic.
Keita Takahashi makes F2P spiritual sequel to Noby Noby Boy. Now completely sex-negative North American indie community that once took Takahashi in shuns him due to implicit sexuality of game. Takahashi again leaves game development.
Platinum releases a sequel to licensed anime game. It has 55% Metacritic average.
2018:
Platinum closes its doors.
2019:
Keita Takahashi records album with Jim ORourke on which he makes barnyard animal noises while playing the spoons. Album is WIRE Magazines record of the year.
2020:
Treasure release Radiant Silvergun on Steam.
Probably left to die after MGSV is over. Kojima and his colleagues will have to resort to licensing UE4 or something if they open a new studio.
Konami still makes bank on slot machine sales and maintenance, so there won't be any kind of bankruptcy-related IP fire sale. It'll be interesting to see what Konami does with its video game division. Sit on it? Sell it?
Very curious, very sad situation.
Could you pick a worse studio than Nintendo? The least story driven studio with the Kojima. Fucking lol. Can't wait to see what he does next.
for god's sake sell Silent Hills to someone who can carry it through if you don't want to do it yourself, Konami. They'd be idiots to burn all the buzz it created
Can't be much worse than MGS4!
Well Konami can go right into my no buy pile. Why would they treat Kojima this way?

Damn, what happens to Silent Hills now?
Is everyone so sure Silent Hills is dead? I mean PT generated a ton of buzz and interest you'd think Konami would want to capitalize on that with or without Hideo.
Holy shit. I never thought this would happen. I pretty much thought Kojima was almost running Konami.
Not necessarily, but it's going to be the last Kojima MGS.Damn, end of an era. This really is the last MGS![]()
He would get the creative freedom he wants anywhere he goes, he's Kojima. That doesn't mean shit. His games on the Wii U unless there's a next gen Wii U 2 would also be a huge waste for him.Who's being pedantic?
Nintendo as a whole doesn't make story centric games, but they leave directors to do as they please. I don't think Kojima would ever get everything he could ever want from Nintendo (as in resources), but he would have all the creative freedom he could ever want.
That said, Nintendo would never approach him.
What heavy story driven games did they release last gen on consoles other than Xenoblade? You realise that Ninendo has more story driven franchises than MS and Sony combined right?
So two semi-depressive people not-quite working for Nintendo debating how bad this world is? Intelligent Systems by the way definitely is quite wordy, but they are not trying to make movies, they are still mainly gameplay oriented. I still think, if Kojima was going to work at one of the console vendors, Sony would be the most natural choice and Nintendo would probably be the least fitting of all big publishers. Of course, Nintendo would probably gladly take him and give him a team.Kojima and his good buddy Sakurai can mope around talking about how they're miserable making the same games from their most famous series. It's the perfect match!

I want to know this myself ...
