Dont you love inflammatory subject titles?
Anyway, sounds like a positive gamespot preview. Which doesnt bode well for the review :p.

Let's get one of your most important questions out of the way right now: Based on the limited time we've spent playing the game (several hours), and having come at the experience without any sort of pre-established expectations--just the same sort of cautious optimism with which we tend to approach any new game--we're definitely impressed. For the most part. But let's get down to the real details, shall we?

To put it plainly, Fable is an action adventure game with role-playing elements.

From what we've seen so far, it appears as though Fable has shaped up to be a rather impressive game that's more ambitious than the average third-person-perspective action adventure. It's certainly reminiscent of any number of other games of this ilk, but the alignment system and character-building system, the open-ended nature of some of the quests in the game, and the unflinching inclusion of some decidedly mature themes makes Fable quite unlike anything else we've played so far this year. However, we've also just begun scratching the surface of the game, and we will be interested to see how much content there is to explore, how long the game is, what the replay value is like, and how, if at all, our positive first impression changes as we continue playing.

When will these people learn that you're not allowed to say "shape up," "shaped up," or "shaping up" in an outro paragraph? That shit flew in 1998, but not anymore.

"All in all" and "overall" are also verboten.

DFS.

Well at least we know Kasavins going into it "without any sort of pre-established expectations". I bet this'll be the only review that admits to this :p

I already know the score, it's 8.6.

Reverse that, good sir. :p

Too easy, hehe. Umm I'm going to say 8.4. Do I get a prize if I'm right?

I'd like to throw "eye candy' onto that pile as well.

Let's not forget "albiet". Sure, it's a legitimate word, but one that has been filtered out of the English language since like 1950, only to show up in a bunch of shitty online gaming publications.

*takes notes*

I'd like to enact a death penalty for adding the suffix "-wise" onto any word. I'll allow exceptions for "unwise" and "streetwise." But death by acid enema for things like "graphics-wise," "sound-wise," "gameplay-wise," etc.
