I think that's actually what gamers want - to argue over how to rank the same few big budget games.

If movie top 10s followed the same pattern they would consist of nothing but the year's biggest action blockbusters, and people would complain that the latest Marvel film was ranked below Fast and Furious.

Yep, Hogwarts Legacy was fucking great. Absolutely loved it. Easily my GOTY; I enjoyed it far more than other darlings like TOTK, and I'm someone who considered Zelda my all time favorite series, but has been questioning what exactly that means post BOTW, because I just don't like changes being made to that series.

Game "journalists" trying to bury Legacy and ignore its juggernaut sales is hilarious.

There's a reason "oscar bait" exists as a term. Certain genres are significantly more likely to be nominated than others.

But all things being subjective as someone whose bought and completed 18 new releases this year I'm in a better position than most to create a top 10 of 2023, don't worry your pretty little head about it. I will say that I have yet to play BG3 and Octopath 2, both of which I know I'd love but who knows how much they would shake up my list.

It's better than FF16. SM2 is great but a totally different game than OT2. Both are great.

I haven't played OT2, but I played FF16. I can confidently say, OT2 is better than FF16.

The game is just brilliant.
