I think that's actually what gamers want - to argue over how to rank the same few big budget games.Another boring mainstream game list.
Its not that good game, take away the potter theme and its only media-core, so its only the "potter" that is holding it high.
No Spider-man 2 on top 10?
Thats too many popular games. I need a list filled with indies that less than 100k people have played to make this a reputable list.
Paid actor.
Wait...
It shouldn’t be.
Disagree. I thought it was awesome. Definitely in my top 10 this year. But......opinions.
Either way, Gamespot didn't even bother to review the game and that's what I was referring to by pretending it doesn't exist.
You just described Zelda! Its not that good game, take away the potter theme and its only media-core, so its only the "potter" that is holding it high.
If movie top 10s followed the same pattern
None of my personal top 5 picks are on that list (AC6, FFXVI, Remnant 2 etc) so shit list by default
All truth be told its mid game underneath a very well done licence.lol......pretending Hogwarts doesn't exist still
It's better than FF16. SM2 is great but a totally different game than OT2. Both are great.Octopath Traveller has its fan but its better than FF16 or Spiderman2 ?
well maybe people really like OT2
I haven't played OT2, but I played FF16. I can confidently say, OT2 is better than FF16.Octopath Traveller has its fan but its better than FF16 or Spiderman2 ?

The developers knew that, first and foremost, the most crucial aspect of Dungeons & Dragons is encouraging and rewarding choice by trying to account for as many outcomes as possible, no matter how unlikely, every step of the way through the story. The result of honoring that ideal is the best game of 2023.
The game is just brilliant. Larian Studios has set a new benchmark for what developers can accomplish in a single-player RPG, and I won't be surprised if we see more studios attempt to emulate Baldur's Gate 3's success when it comes to designing choice-driven narratives. And whether anyone--perhaps even including Larian itself--can live up to that benchmark it has established is hardly a given.
