Greg seemed really butt hurt about it at the time but I don't really recall anyone else. If anything Tim sounds like he is a fan. They didn't really seem to know much about gametrailers guys though when they talked about the layoffs a week or two ago.
Debating if I want to pay the $1 to see the Brandon vids early.
Well, it was a jab despite some people trying to make it sound like it was a joke, and i understand where Greg is coming from, like, he doesn't watch Gametrailers or Kyle's show, and then the first one he will watch (probably because people brought to his attention that he talked about them) is Kyle making this comment. They weren't pissed, but they didn't enjoy it.
Colin also didn't enjoy the comment, i recall him saying he would never comment about other fellow gaming media that way, but that he doesn't really care (paraphrasing, it was something like that, i'm trying to find the video, but it's kinda hard to find old Kinda Funny episodes, it's the one that they recommend other gaming sites or personalities).

Tim presented it "out of nowhere". Colin doesn't know them and for Greg context was missing. People should let it go^^ If someone told me a stranger called me and my company out, I would react the very same way.
Well, joke or not, comment was made and they didn't like it, which is iincredibly unfortunate to me since GT and kinda Funny are both my favourite gaming crews. I hope they somehow don't hold a grudge against each other, i'm sure Kyle doesn't...it's a good thing Brandon was invited to be at Kinda Funny Gamescast, i'm looking forward to that.

Honestly I don't get the hate for IGN. They have some cool stuff, yeah it isn't GT but I wouldn't mind seeing Brandon there if that's where he ends up. I see Jones, if a patreon thing doesn't work out, fitting in at the more traditional sites moreso than other ones imo.

This would actually make a lot of sense.
IGN is one of the few media outlets that could employ most/all of the 9-person GT team.
Wouldn't have been my first choice, but they could be really good for each other.
If this is to be the fate of the new GT - if this is what it takes - I'm all for it.
What makes you think that if this is happening, it's for all/most of them?

I'll eat my hat if they're employing all 9; there's no way. That would be a multi-hundred thousand dollar investment annually. If IGN were able or wanted to bring on that many people, they would have done so already.
Unless IGN's actually buying the company, ala 1Up, but I doubt that too.

No way they employ all 9. I could see them maybe trying to get Brandon and probably Bosman and that would be about it.
With that said I don't think this tweet has anything to do with employment. Would be a really weird way to do this.

Brandon's SF tour was actually planned before we got the bad news. Maybe there's potential for it to lead to some other things, but us getting jobs isn't the primary reason he's there.
I can't stand most their staff, the xbox crew are gross fanboys, the people they pushed into the Colin & Greg shaped hole of beyond don't care about playstation and are pretty annoying. The NVC people are cool and they have some good reviewers but the rubbish dwarfs the quality.
I say I'll support them wherever they go but I said I'd check out Elyse's new place and after watching 2 videos I was like nah, can't do it.

I like Marty and Goldfarb and wish it was more of just them doing Beyond rather than with Max and Brian. Max makes way too many jokes and Brian can get way off topic too. Marty and Goldfarb really make that work now. But I wish it was just them with a rotating 3rd chair and wouldn't mind Max and Brian being part of that rotation but I really like Jared Petty. Sadly you do have to dig a little more but for me it feels weird not to listen to Beyond even if it isn't Colin and Greg anymore but I still get them with KF.
I feel their best show is Game Scoop with Daemon. But yeah I dislike Rooster Teeth and Funhaus and all those.

i think most guys actually live in the burbs/boonies and commute. can't imagine anyone living IN SF working for gaming sites. even Gerstmann lives far away and i think he does pretty well for himself.
Ha I love how he plays it off like "I don't care, it's fine." when in reality it actually bothered him. Not everyone is going to love what you do. Don't expect them to.
But he probably wasn't being serious about it. And the way he said it was hardly malicious. It was more of a fun jab if anything.

It's interesting to see how some gaming-media sites/personalities are so buddy-buddy though while others seem to be completely doing their own thing. Could be entirely dependant on the city they are located in though.
Thinking about it, was pretty strange how all the sites like IGN, Gamespot, Giant Bomb etc. are all buddy buddy but none of them really seemed to give a shit about GT or ever mention them like they did with other sites.

What? Giant Bomb was very appreciative of GT. They said that when they started the site they thought of GT as the gold standard for video quality. That's pretty high praise in my opinion.
I'm not projecting anything, Greg was clearly miffed about the jab. That one dude was trying to convince him how awesome Bosman's show was and he was like, "I only saw one episode and he shitted on us." Then the dude tried to downplay it and be like "we shit on people all the time." And then Colin and Greg were like "eh, not really we shit on organizations we don't get personal."
He was definitely peeved.

Its got all the twitter feeds in a tab. All the playlists in a tab (including the videos that ceriden, gametrailers archive, gkettering/thedarknight have been saving to YT). Shows the latest stream from the post-GT era (massive shouts out to farisr for this). It shows an old video and stream based (roughly) on the old youtube/twitch schedule. Plus a random video/stream from the entire archives. And it'll show a message up the top if Huber or Brad or Damiani are live on twitch. I wanted a site where I could keep track of the guys. And also have a page/app thing where I could log on each day and there would be a "new" GT video for me to watch.

From what I remember of that KF podcast, those guys seemed to be misinformed of what Kyle had actually said; Colin seemed particularly annoyed that Kyle had apparently slated them for going alone, when the truth was the complete opposite (even though he concedes that he isn't a fan of their stuff).

Yes, it was obvious their knowledge of what Kyle actually said was limited to whatever people were tweeting at them about Kyle "talking shit". It was a bit weird that Greg appeared to care enough to be peaved about it, but not enough to actually watch the video himself.

Just a quick note, luchadork: I was trying to use the site with Firefox 44.02 and can't get the Twitter display to work. This isn't an issue with Google Chrome 48.0.2564.116 m. Don't think it's something that you can fix but if there's any chance you can twiddle with it to make it work, this is officially my go-to site to follow the crew!

It's interesting to note that Kyle Bosman probably has the best dry humor and most talent out of many of these gaming personalities. And is actually a writer with a background in comedy. And even more interestingly, the kindafunny guys....aren't really all that funny to begin with, but they aren't trying to be. They don't do a comedy show in a regular basis. Whereas the Final Bosman, is basically a comedy skit on gaming. I think that's why Kyle said kinda funny games isn't really all that funny. It's a shame they didn't even watch the episode and got offended by it.
