Gay marriage salt thread

I mean..it's a small banner that changes colors. It's not Burt Reynolds and Tom Selleck locked by their manly moustaches swapping spit. How can one get so bent outta shape over a rainbow?

I'm straight as hell, btw..

Fundamentalist Christians believe that the rainbow is a symbol of Gods covenant and that the use of it LGBT is blasphemous. Gods glory has been hijacked by sodomites in essence. They feel its an assault on their religious liberty.

Well thanks for putting that in my head.

Now I want that logo.

We jest, but that man in the OP with the Hitler references had a point. Remember when Hitler, in one fell swoop, allowed all the Jews to marry? That was the beginning of the end, people.

Ok maybe I'm remembering that wrong.

Well....kinda surprise to see the rainbow NeoGaf sign when I check some stuff here. Wish the gay people be happy of what happened in the US side right now.

Steve King salt

The whole thing is salt but pay particular attention to at the one minute mark. He insinuates that Dred Scott v. Sandford happened and started the Civil War. So in essence what he's saying is slavery should not have stopped at that point in time but it should have waited until the people decided it should stop. Nevermind that that would probably have taken decades, maybe even a century. In the meantime people would have suffered while the establishment twiddles their thumbs and debates it. lol

Reading what Scott Walker(WI Governer) has said. I swear if he is ever made president I'm leaving this country.

All the political contributions in the world are worthless if they don't get frightened white people out to the polls.

Walker wouldn't even carry WI in the general election, if he makes it that far.

If only the salty people knew about the explosion of homosexual sex that was had in the last 24 hours. That would really get their panties in a twist.

Another one from my facebook.

"Romans 1:26-27King James Version (KJV)

26 For this cause God gave them up unto vile affections: for even their women did change the natural use into that which is against nature:

27 And likewise also the men, leaving the natural use of the woman, burned in their lust one toward another; men with men working that which is unseemly, and receiving in themselves that recompence of their error which was meet."

They always have to turn to the Bible for a reason to be against this. If God exists he would not be against this or he would not be a just God.

I've seen a few negative comments on Facebook and elsewhere about how companies are rainbowing their brands for the sake of publicity.

I see where these comments are coming from - some of these companies probably don't care about the issue and are just capitalizing on "being part of history" - but it also shows that these companies are willing to visibly alienate bigots like this. Seeing so many huge name-brands publicly support the ruling will
hopefully
be positive influence on public opinion and sway some people on the fence.

As for people like Jeff? The more isolated these people and their ideas become, the better.

Personally, even if these companies are doing it for the most cold-hearted, cynical reasons in the world I don't care and still love it because we've actually reached a point where openly supporting gay rights is a winning move for the public. I mean, that's an INSANE shift in how gay people have been perceived and thought of in such an incredibly short time. I stood outside the Houses of Parliament in the 90s holding banners for an equal age of consent, and going to London Pride with friends and keeping quiet on the train down for fear of being noticed. Today there's huge banners at London stations from the rail companies welcoming people to Pride and gay marriage is a thing for millions of people across the world.

In an incredibly short space of time, we've gone from a minority fighting for basic rights and whom it was completely aceptable to insult, mock and treat differently to one where the biggest companies in the world want to associate with us because it's a good business and PR move. So I welcome them with open arms for whatever reason they do it - every time it happens it's another small nail in the coffin of the bigotry and prejudice gay people have suffered for lifetimes.
