I'm seriously considering walking to the store tomorrow and picking up a regular copy of this, instead of waiting an extra week for my LE to come in through amazon.

For anyone wondering, i queued mine at 12:17 PM CST.

I just got home at 2:13 PM CST and the skins still downloaded.

If you had them queued, you are good to go :).

What are the odds this will be another success on the levels of Gears 2/Halo3?

MS said Halo 3 outsold six PS3 titles combined. . . I'm guessing this won't be anywhere near 6 titles maybe 3 at the most.

Uncharted 3, Killzone 3, Resistance 3. . .

It won't. I've ordered release day shipping on Amazon at least 15 times and every single time it has said "Shipping Soon" the day before and I've always gotten it on release day.

Judging by pre-order numbers I'd say it definitely has a shot.

Tomorrow i have a history discussion on karl marx (Which i necessarily don't have to read considerring i did my essay 2 weeks ago and already turned it in), and a history quiz, i'm going to the quiz and the discussion and then coming home :lol.

But i'm not sleeping, buncha friends and i are going to run through the campaign.

My gamestop is starting to play gears 3 at 10 here, some others are doing 9 and even 9:30 tournaments.

I'll probably show up at 11, an hour wait isn't long plus it's been a torrential donwpour today.

Any NY/Tri-State area GAFers going to the launch or are already on the line? What's it like? As I said, I plan on passing by later today to see what the line is like. I'll be after 9 or so. If anything, I'll post what I'm wearing in a future post because I'd like to meet a few NYC GAFers. Also note that I plan on getting the game tomorrow so I'm not going to stand in line.

Guys, it doesn't matter when Amazon updates your shipping status - barring a freak occurrence on their end or with UPS/Fed Ex, you will get your game tomorrow.

I almost never have it update to "Shipped" before Midnight and games always arrive on release day without issue. Of course, UPS in my area sucks and never brings anything until 5 or 6 at night, but that's another story.

This. Even when my copy arrives, sometimes it'll still say "Shipping Soon" until the next day. And I'm in the same boat. I usually don't get my games until 7:00 pm if I order from Amazon. That's why I only use it if I want the game day of, but not right away like Gears 3. ;)

I don't usually freak out because of this, but I got a message this morning that Amazon tried to charge me and it failed. Turned out I forgot to update my CC info with my new card, so it let me update my info and it says shipping soon so hopefully since I already updated my info that it will still be shipping for tomorrow. The e-mail said they would try to charge it again later so hopefully later doesn't mean it isn't too late for them to ship it out today so that it gets here tomorrow. Fingers crossed...
