Same issue, well apart from the fact I bought it from a cheaper region but the purchase was fine so I don't think that's related.

I can't even try it on another drive because the box to install apps to another hard drive is greyed out. -.-

A few have reported updating Windows Settings may alleviate the issue. Also checking on another possible fix and will let you guys know. Sorry about this!

Windows Store is like the PS3 where you need double the space (it copies then installs) so double check.

There's a command you can run called "wsreset" I believe which may be worth a shot. Run it in admin command prompt.

that's not the case anymore. If you have 1GB extra space, you should be able to acquire it. So for Gears at around 53GB, you can download it as long as you have 54GB free space.

it uses MS account payment options afaik, so try to add it in account.microsoft.com site

So for shits and giggles I decided to try the Windows store since its only $30. I meet all of the requirements, and when I click install I get the following:

Fucking really Microsoft? I have verified I have enough space on my HDD. There are other reports on the store about this issue. Anyone run into this and know the fix?

An update on this. I have tried using wsreset, rebooting, went through another article about fixing this error and still get it. I can't find anywhere to tell the store where to download the game, and I have 100 GB free on my C drive so I am moving 42 GB to another drive to see if that helps.

Are you on the latest Windows Update?

Can you check via Start > System > Settings > About and see which version you are on?

Technically you need to be on version 1511 in order to get the game. Some people have been able to purcahse without updating, which is a bug.

Can you run Windows Update to get the latest and then try again?

I now have 146 GB free on my C drive and get the same error. I have verified I can download other apps just fine via the store.

It's like you people don't read the threads or bother to Google this. You can change the storage device in settings.

If you didn't get 1511 then you won't be able to play Gears anyway, unfortunately. So the lack of ability to install Gears on a separate HDD is irrelevant...

Nope. I've tried a few things before to fix it but it ever bothered me enough to spend more time messing with it until now.

My tablet got sent the update fine though, it's rather strange.

• Gears UE on PC, is a COMPLETE remake of the original Gears of War that released back in 2006. It's been completely remade for modern hardware.

It's not actually a remake. They redid the cutscenes and assets, but aside from that, it's the exact same game. You can tell because it has all of the same quirks and bugs that it always had.
