Gears of War video

Saw this over at Blim's site. It's basically the same area we've seen before 'cept this time the guy playing it is showing off the enviornment. Very pretty and definately worth a look, imo. No sound though. And for the love of all that's holy, please let's keep MGS4 out of this thread.

Its' nice to see what it will look like on a TV at home. I mean direct feed is awesome, but to see it running in a living room setting makes the wait unbearable.

I would really love to see daylight environments in this game. Hopefully they'll have something of that nature for X05.

The animation seems to be quite good actually, especially when he is walking(i.e. not running) based on this video atleast.

looks much smoother than it did at the MS presentation....

Side note : Did anyone else notice how many times the phrase "What we/i like to call...."
was used at the MS keynote?

I wonder just how sharp/crisp this game really looks. These pics are themselves a bit on the grainy fuzzy side, I can only imagine how GOW looks on a decent HDTV and 720P.

yeah, its the transitions that really need some work

From the screen shots alone, I can tell that it is only running at 30 FPS. And I call bullshit on that.
..what?

While there is daylight in the game the vast majority of it should take place at night/in darkness since the Horde are supposed to be sensitive to/afraid of light.

The scene/environment is destroyed but it's beautiful to look at. That's all it means.

GOW's enviroments are just so awesome. I particulary like the fact that the view distance isnt marred by alot of effects, fog etc..... A nice view distance with a ton of detail.

Fucking awesome detail/environments, sub-par animation. If this game had MGS4 quality animation, it would be godly. And no, I don't think it's just the "transitions". It's fluid and smooth, but it just doesn't seem organic and very life-like.

Seeing it moving on an acctual television has impressed me far more then any screenshot or direct view trailer could've - but it also hit home just how awkward controlling first person shooters (or third person shooters, in this case) are on consoles.

I saw this as well and I really like seeing it in this type of setup. It gives you a better understanding of the visuals when it is displayed in this "living room" type of set up. The other trailers from thre press were pretty bad looking since the level was at night and the filming was not good.

This video however is pretty impressive and really shows off the enviroment. I also agree that I look forward to the daylight settings.

:lol Either sarcasm or unrealistic expectations found here. Either way, my sarcasm detector has never worked, just to let you know. Why would they be so concerned about full asset runtime being 60fps yet? They've got another six months or so to release...better to get the game, as a whole, finished, working and balanced.

edit: :lol screen shots...man, my reading comprehension is shite.
