I don't buy that it'll be faster than the 4090. With DLSS4 possibly.
Yep I would bet the farm that the vaunted '10% better performance' will just be a 5 series exclusive version of DLSS, cause on paper: nothing much is close to the 4090 from the leaked specs. If that is it....and it's just gated performance, that's some bullshieeeet Nvidia lol.

I'm fairly good to stay on my 4090/i714700f/64GB beast until the 5090 and parallel Ultra 9 is ready for a sale (gotta be a full build, due to that behemoth 600w buzz: guess the office will get the 4090 box!! , eyeing up perhaps Jan 2026, post Boxing Day sales.

If it actually has 32 gbps memory the bandwidth would be slightly higher than the 4090. So maybe it'll be close.

Is my 3080 bad now? I don't get that impression, I play comfortably at 1440p although I don't keep up with the latest releases all that much.
For 1440p its fine! You might struggle to hit top performance in a few newer games like Alan Wake 2 and Black Myth, but from what you wrote, those may not be your jam.
The new top card is for 4K 240hz and the thereabouts.

I'll surely get AWII when it releases on steam. Control ran SUPER Well on it I'm not sure why Alan Wake II would not perform decently enough to look great and get 70 fps or so?

Sure, "decently enough" it will absolutely be!
I was talking about 4K with full RT and ultra settings.
