Just went inside the volcano for the first time. Pretty impressive reveal.

Tribe. I think I got it and haven't finished the volcano yet.Is the quest for the web event reward Varesa's tribe quest or the world quest about the volcano?
It's the world quest. All you have to do is follow along until you've entered the volcano. Doesn't take that long.Is the quest for the web event reward Varesa's tribe quest or the world quest about the volcano?
They're different characters for each region. For Fontaine, Lyney and Clorinde show the local specialties. Is there other character than Liney that shows mats on map?

Literally the only reason I pulled for Lyney and the only time he gets brought out. Didn't pull for Clorinde.Oh snap ok I don't have both. Guess I'll just search myself haha
It's the only region that doesn't have a 4* star with search ability
Ability works in co-op when you're in another player's world but only for the account with the character. The book find resource function works when you're in another world too.I think you're in EU servers, rightSSfox ? If so, then I can't help, but I wonder if you join somebody's world in Co-op and they have Chlorinde/Lyney in the party, if you can see the stuff on the map. Or if they made it so it had to be one of your characters to work.

What actually broke? ELI5
- Mihoyo has changed how information is sent to the GPU and the old method of modding no longer works
What actually broke? ELI25
- Previously, star rail (like all mihoyo games) did the character posing/skinning step (the step that changes the model from A-pose to the pose in the current frame) in vertex shaders (VS). With this update, the skinning is now done in compute shaders (CS) instead (similar to WUWA) and when multiple characters are on-screen they are batched/posed together
- This has a bunch of consequences for the modding tool - calling a CS is an entirely different process than calling a VS, the format of the inputs is different, and we need to have a way to handle the situation where multiple characters are on-screen. The CS themselves are also more complicated - previously, a single VS was used to draw almost all objects (with a rare secondary one used for some NPCs), but now there are at least 3 CS involved with drawing a character
- In addition, there is a glitch in the 3dmigoto dll itself related to CS dispatches that was not (until now) a concern since CS was largely unused but has become problematic now that it is being used for skinning
- Also, problems with the anti-aliasing not being properly updated for mods in this new format
- All-in-all, just a huge chunk of things that need to be fixed
Are you performing the combo properly? Skill -> Attack, Attack -> Skill -> Attack, Attack -> Burst. The burst should only activate a tiny animation, that's the one that deals the most damage.Am I missing something with Varesa? C0R1. Plunging artifact set, 57%CR, 200%+CD
Getting small numbers.

Nooo, I'm just gonna pretend I didn't read this.Bros. Looks like modding HoYo games is going to have to evolve. Star Rail just pushed a new update that changes the way the entire thing works. Good news is that it's fixable, but they will need time to make it work. Also good news is that they did it first in Star Rail so hopefully by the time they change the game engine in Genshin/ZZZ, it will be already solved and ready to go.
For the technical minded that are interested:
To be fair the kit descriptions are way too convoluted. They need to simplify it so you don't have to decode it to know how to play the character. Thanks
Seems like her damage is more tied to her charged attack while her skill is active. I was mostly using regular attacks.
I enjoyed the event, the combat was more involved than just fighting some enemies in a small arena and the minigame was alright. The quest was whatever but at least it had some gameplay, it wasn't just walking around listening to characters yap.So I just realized today that the major patch event was almost over, so I hurried up and completed it. Not bad honestly. Not one of the greats, but the voices were back (in EN) and they had a full on story, in addition to some fun minigames and stuff. Pretty impressed.
I also took this opportunity to try out Pyro Traveler, and... they're actually kinda good in certain teams? They force your team composition in the battle sections of that event, and the Traveler's off-field Pyro application is pretty good in terms of synergy with Natlan characters. Seems to do alright between Mualani and Chasca teams. I tried him out in my own personal Mualani team and it's pretty consistent for the way you're supposed to play Mualani. I still don't like her gameplay, but yea, pretty good synergy. Dunno if it's good enough to remove him from my Nilou bountiful cores team as Dendro, but it's nice to have options. I still haven't unlocked the C6 for Pyro Traveler either, but that only looks useful if you're trying to do on-field with them, which I'm not.
I really liked the "capture the flag" stuff. They made it very simple/easy for the usual Genshinbrain, but if they put some effort and tuning into that, it'd be a really fun mode to play. Probably specifically in Natlan since the traversal mechanics are half of the fun.I enjoyed the event, the combat was more involved than just fighting some enemies in a small arena and the minigame was alright. Not sure how I feel about Skirk being restricted to freeze teams, well not restricted but nerfed outside of freeze teams. Though I suppose with Escoffier being so OP any team other than freeze would be nerfed regardless.Skirk kit:

Another leak said it was 6 floors and you start with zero energy, sounds similar to the current event where you're not trying to kill the boss just clear certain damage thresholds. Doesn't sound very compelling but better than nothing I guess, hopefully there will be good rewards.Clarification on the new endgame mode:

One thing I misunderstood at first is that she isn't locked into any particular team comp, but you want your party members to do Hydro or Cryo damage because it buffs her kit, so not quite as restrictive as Nilou, but still moreso than I had hoped. Gonna wait until I see her kit in practice before getting too worked up about it. But yea, Escoffier is pretty much a mandatory pull now if you wanna use Skirk, not loving that pattern. Not sure how I feel about Skirk being restricted to freeze teams, well not restricted but nerfed outside of freeze teams. I'm mostly disappointed it's yet another DPS check with a timer mode. Regular abyss is already that, imaginarium less so, but the timer is still present to annoy you. They could have created an endgame mode with a different focus, like survival + kills, or maximizing certain reaction types etc. DPS check is so played out by now. I just hope it's additional primogems instead of taking away from another mode via reducing the frequency of reward periods.Another leak said it was 6 floors and you start with zero energy, sounds similar to the current event where you're not trying to kill the boss just clear certain damage thresholds. I ventured a bit into Sumeru to do some stuff there and heard some of the new regional BGM, and it slaps hard. This one in particular is chef's kiss:
Well that was fast. I guess since a lot of modders are making money through patreon they don't waste any time.jonnyXx - Good news, modders have already found a workable solution for Star Rail's mod issues, and pushed out a script that automatically converted legacy mod .ini files to the new format. There are still some limitations (particularly with issues of the same character model being on screen with 2 or more copies of itself), but they have things mostly working at least. Also, they're mostly concerned with character models currently, so who knows about stuff like gliders if they end up changing the rendering method in Genshin.
At any rate, it's promising that they were able to do so much, so quickly. I believe we'll be fine if it hits Genshin.
Furina Terminator reference got me good.
The HP substat is good for her, but the shield mechanic is kinda anti-her kit. Not the worst choice but as a F2P that craftable Natlan claymore is better. Earth Shaker I think it's called. Regarding The Bell shield requirement, it's any shield. Crystallize or a character skill. Not pulling for ice chef girl, hoping Skirk will still be decent with Yelan & Shenhe tho
Edit.
Is The Bell worth using on C1+ Dehya? Just bored and decided to get her fully built up for fun.
I'm reading EoSF is her best set, but I don't really have any good Claymores to give her that already aren't being used.
Also The Bells description says "while protected by a shield the character gains 24% increased damage" now it doesn't specifically mention the shield the bell itself creates, can any shield activate this buff?

EoSF is only her best if you're trying to use her as a burst damage subDPS. In my opinion she's kinda bad in that role, so I prefer using Vourukasha's Glow on her. Helps with her HP for her passive and her elemental skill damage which is more valuable, IMO.
I went through a phase trying to force her to work in a DPS role, but it felt bad to play. No harm in giving it a try yourself though. If you are going for Burst DPS then stick with EoSF and give her whatever Crit (% or DMG) weapon you have, like the Serpent Spine BP weapon or anything with Crit substats. Then just build her like any other Burst DPS with enough ER to have her burst ready off of cooldown, funnel the rest into Crit stats.I do plan on using her as a main fire dps, I just assumed EoSF would be best. Interesting I'll look at V.Glow tomorrow, maybe give me something to farm.
I'll also look into the Natlan claymore, had no idea this was even a thing.
Thanks for the tips.
I have her at C2, lvl 90, and talents almost done.
Right now she's just wearing decent EoSF stuff I had laying around. With Bennett for pyro synergy and then Yelan and Kokomi for the HP buff from hydro syngery she's sitting at 48k HP lol

Problem with that is her damage buff drops off before the entire Burst animation finishes, and it's impossible to vape every hit because her swings don't cause Waterboi or Yelan's attacks to go off. It also hits too fast for slower Hydro applicators to work well, like Kokomi.
Hoyo really fucked her kit. It was a meme when she released, but it really is impressive how badly they made it impossible for her to be "good". Still one of my top 3 designs in the game though.
I initially thought this was also another Mavuika event but the buffs make other teams better for most of the bosses. On the first boss I was able to score higher with my Lyney. Against the new Lava Dragon Statue boss I did best with Clorinde, and for the dendro chicken Varesa was best because of the plunge damage buff.Just knocked out thatMavuika showcasebattle event. Interesting concept this time, and I quite liked it. Doing the buff building with the first team that doesn't even necessarily have to be able to kill anything, then going ham withMavuikayour best team in the 2nd half. More enjoyable for me than their usual battle events.
Welcome to RNG hell. You get good artifacts eventually but it's a long road full of many disappointments along the way. And yea that's basically the endgame, farming artifacts and building characters for Abyss and Imaginarium Theater. So I guess the real endgame in Genshin is to farm good artifacts because I'm having tough luck so far, even with these double drops, in getting decent ones to replace the makeshift artifacts I currently have for Mavuika.
I have a feeling it's going to take me weeks to get usable ones with the correct main stat and some decent substat rolls (I'm currently farming the Natlan set(s) that are recommend in most of the builds I've seen online).
Just curious, what scores were you getting by using specific teams to counter the bosses? I was averaging 1300~ , with the Mavuika favorable bosses into the 1500s, and the low at 1100~ for the first one that could fly. This was just with my standard Mav team of Mav/Citlali/Iansan/Xilonen.I initially thought this was also another Mavuika event but the buffs make other teams better for most of the bosses. But I actually replay these and try to beat my own scores, if you just want to one and be done with it then yea, it's a Mavuika showcase.
The buffs are insane, it was fun seeing my characters do big damage like that. 300k charge attacks with Lyney, 100k hits with Clorinde, 500k-600k plunges with Varesa.
Yep. This is why in all of the gachas I play, I go for "good enough" sets with the correct set, correct main stat and at least one decent substat. A lot of players like to minmax on their favorites, but I've been casually farming a BiS set for a single character for a year (when I have no other things to spend resin on), and I'm still nowhere close. Don't even have 1 out of 5 "perfect" artifacts yet. Then again, I build almost all of the characters at some point, so it'd be insane for me to farm elite artifacts for all of them. Mostly supports/off fielders I just go for the set and main stat, disregarding substats completely, to keep my sanity. So I guess the real endgame in Genshin is to farm good artifacts because I'm having tough luck so far, even with these double drops, in getting decent ones to replace the makeshift artifacts I currently have for Mavuika.

The first one is the only one that kind of counters Mavuika, I don't remember my score with her but I was able to get over 1k with Yelan on the team. I don't really like playing Mavuika Yelan though, it's clunky. Good event except for making you start with zero energy.Just curious, what scores were you getting by using specific teams to counter the bosses? But yea you're right, I was doing just one-and-done to get the rewards before the event ended. If this type of event comes back, I might actually put more effort in on my behalf. Still enjoyed the way it was done though.
