That recipe posted doesn't look quite right. Then again, with edibles there are so many ways to do it. I just don't use that weird "sandwiching" method. I find that actually mixing the herb in with the peanut butter/nutella works exceptionally well.
Tolerance plays a factor too. Lately I've been getting high once to twice to three times a week depending on how I feel. Part of that is because of experimentation with edibles and becoming a guinea pig so I can figure out dosages.
Anyway, here's my own recipe with ABV that did the trick. Keep in mind that I'm not particularly savvy with marijuana so I don't go by grams, ounces, whatever. I also don't really do exact measurements and just kind of eyeball certain things, so bear with me.
For three firecracker squares (not mini-rectangles like the above recipe):
-On a plate, take a dab of natural peanut butter (the kind where oil collects on the top), a dab of nutella/JIF hazelnut spread, and maybe 1/2 teaspoon of vegetable/canola oil. You want an oily mixture but not something too thin, since you'll be spreading it. I used half Nutella and half PB because, while Nutella makes for a better tasting treat, it's also a bit too rich for my liking.
-Make sure the amount on the plate seems about what will be good enough for three full size square cracker sandwiches. This is where I "eyeball" it.
-Measure 1 non-rounded teaspoon of finely-ground ABV herb. I just keep my ABV in a sandwich bag and press down on it from the outside to grind it down. You can scoop it and shake until the top of the teaspoon is flat or just push the excess of with your finger. You basically want an even teaspoon, not a rounded one.
-Toss the tsp of ABV into your PB/Nutella/Oil mixture and proceed to mix it all together using a fork or toothpicks if you have them on hand. I take three or four toothpicks and kind of "comb" through the mixture until the distribution seems even all around. I find that the "combing" technique increases the amount of surface area covered, which leads to maximum effect. Again, this is why I am perplexed by the recipe that doesn't call for mixing but rather just sprinkling the stuff on a cracker and sandwiching it together.
-Once mixed, try your best to divide the mixture into three even sections (for three firecrackers). I use a butter knife. Also, try get as much off the plate as possible.
-Proceed to spread each third of PB/Nutella/Oil/ABV mixture onto a square graham cracker. Hopefully the mixture isn't so thin that it's dripping everywhere. If it is, you'll end up having messy firecrackers but they'll still have the effect. Then top each square cracker+spread with another square cracker to create the sandwich.
-Wrap each of the treats in aluminum foil, just tight enough to secure them.
-After you've pre-heated the oven to about 310-325 degrees (this part differs with all recipes), put the foil-wrapped treats in the oven and leave for 25 minutes.
-Let cool and enjoy.
It's a weird recipe but it works. The first time I tried doing firecrackers with ABV I basically did twice this dose and had a bad experience. I was just too high. This recipe seems to work in terms of reaching the balance point though, where you're feeling good and out there but not to the point where you're forgetting things and freaking out.
If the recipe sounds bogus, well, someone can call me out on it.
