I think the X-men movies have a 2 to 3 year gap and lesser known properties like Daredevil have a 5 to 6 year gap. Fox is fast tracking Daredevil even after the first one was not a success because they need one to be in production before the end of 2012.

Same reason this one exists.

EDIT: and you will hear of a Fantastic Four movie before 2012 and released some time later.

I wonder who owns the rights to the film merchandise like the Spider-Man movie toys. I'm assuming Sony but I would expect Marvel to have a contractual agreement that allows it to earn a decent percentage from the film merchandise too.

That's good news. Would be nice if they could pull off a competent Punisher movie. I thought Thomas Jane was good as the Punisher but everything else felt off. I think of Punisher I think of NYC, not Florida.

The second Punisher movie looked terrible from ads/trailers. Completely skipped that one...

It seems Marvel does. If you notice the Spider-Man movies toys are always made by the same company who makes the rest of the Marvel toys. For example, pre-2007 I believe, Toy Biz made all the Marvel toys, including the Spider-Man film toys. 2007+ has been Hasbro. Hasbro makes all Marvel Superhero toys now, be it based on Marvel movies (Iron Man, Thor, etc.) or these not-Marvel movies.

Interestingly though, there were no Movie branded X-Men: The First Class toys. Hasbro released "X-men First Class" toys around the film's release, but they were based on the comic books. I wonder if Marvel had any say in that happening.

Gamer was absolutely stupid, but was well shot and looked good. I enjoyed Crank, but haven't seen the sequel.

I'm optimistic here since I like Nic Cage and I didn't hate the first Ghost Rider. This has mindless entertainment written all over it which is makes me excited.

here's hoping this turns out to be something special. neveldine/taylor are fantastically gifted and have actual artistic vision, unlike the majority of directors who helm these films. these guys + cage = anything could happen. i like statham but cage is wayyy more of a screen presence, he's a genuine movie star.
