Ghost Rider is getting a sequel? What the fuck? I can see Sony releasing more of these to keep the license away from Marvel but another movie in theaters with Nicolas Cage?

Not a sequel.

A reboot.

The first movie happened. They talked about how it takes place a couple years after the first one and Blaze having his head catch on fire for that long has become more sarcastic.

I think the X-men movies have a 2 to 3 year gap and lesser known properties like Daredevil have a 5 to 6 year gap. Fox is fast tracking Daredevil even after the first one was not a success because they need one to be in production before the end of 2012.

Same reason this one exists.

EDIT: and you will hear of a Fantastic Four movie before 2012 and released some time later.

Dragon Ball Reborn 2014 Confirmed?!

They're still good properties to hold in your pocket. They're pretty much guaranteed to at least gross a 100 million.

I wonder who owns the rights to the film merchandise like the Spider-Man movie toys. I'm assuming Sony but I would expect Marvel to have a contractual agreement that allows it to earn a decent percentage from the film merchandise too.

I think its the opposite; Disney/Marvel give Sony a decent percentage from the merchandise, just a guess.

Apparently Marvel recently did acquire Punisher.
That's good news. Would be nice if they could pull off a competent Punisher movie. I thought Thomas Jane was good as the Punisher but everything else felt off. I think of Punisher I think of NYC, not Florida.

The second Punisher movie looked terrible from ads/trailers. Completely skipped that one...

Punisher: War Zone did have this...

It seems Marvel does. If you notice the Spider-Man movies toys are always made by the same company who makes the rest of the Marvel toys. For example, pre-2007 I believe, Toy Biz made all the Marvel toys, including the Spider-Man film toys. 2007+ has been Hasbro. Hasbro makes all Marvel Superhero toys now, be it based on Marvel movies (Iron Man, Thor, etc.) or these not-Marvel movies.

Interestingly though, there were no Movie branded X-Men: The First Class toys. Hasbro released "X-men First Class" toys around the film's release, but they were based on the comic books. I wonder if Marvel had any say in that happening.

Dolph Lundgren is still the best punisher for me. <3 80's movies.

Is that Idris in the second picture? He looks like a hobo in it :/

Wow, I haven't seen Lambert in anything since Beowulf---the one better than the CG one in at least the soundtrack respect, if not everything!!

I will certainly try to watch this, especially if they go "hard R" or whatever on it and don't pull their over-the-top punches.

Gamer was absolutely stupid, but was well shot and looked good. I enjoyed Crank, but haven't seen the sequel.

I'm optimistic here since I like Nic Cage and I didn't hate the first Ghost Rider. This has mindless entertainment written all over it which is makes me excited.

I'm looking forward to this despite the Crank hacks involvement. Crank was such a pile of crap. A poor man's Drive.

Now that we've taken care of Osama bin Laden, now we can focus on stopping Jason Statham from releasing so many bombs in US theaters.

Hopefully Marvel lost film rights indefinitely. I don't see them doing a better job than the original Daredevil film, it would probably be on par.
You shut your mouth. I want a Shadowlands movie, like yesterday.

While I thoroughly enjoyed both Crank movies, those guys also made "Gamer" which was one of the biggest piles of dogshit ever.

With all the money Nic Cage owes, I'm sure he'll be doing Ghost Rider movies for the next decade (let alone another 4-5 per year of other movies too)

Idris Elba's English accent during the comic-con panel kind of took me for surprise.

He will be doing any movie that will have him.

A bunch of people I know were gaffing, gripping, and doing electric on that film. That is rad that I read a compliment to them without anyone knowing who they are.

I loved the first Ghost Rider film mostly because I was really trashed in theaters and haven't laughed so hard in a theater that year. It is the best camp superhero film to date.

Should I feel bad for enjoying Gamer? Michael C. Hall was great in it and it had big titty chicks in tube tops rollerskating around.

Okay I don't feel bad for enjoying it. Here's to hoping Ghost Rider has some titties too! :D

You gotta check him and his English accent out on Luther. The 1st season is on Netflix streaming. Its an amazing show.

Honestly if this is anything like Punisher Warzone then I will be a very happy man.

Agreed with Ulster on the hilarity of the first film. I remember watching it trashed in theaters too. It was horrible but me and my friends had some good laughs. Especially at the fat emo girl.

I think I was too trashed to even remember the fat emo girl. Haha. I wish I saw War Zone trashed in theaters. I actually enjoyed that quite a bit too.

It would take some truly remarkable titties to get me to watch another Nic Cage film.

here's hoping this turns out to be something special. neveldine/taylor are fantastically gifted and have actual artistic vision, unlike the majority of directors who helm these films. these guys + cage = anything could happen. i like statham but cage is wayyy more of a screen presence, he's a genuine movie star.

What

I haven't seen the first movie nor had I really read and Ghost Rider comics, but I've sort of gotten in the mood after reading Millar's Ultimate Avengers focusing on Ghost rider.

Also, the below shot looks pretty cool.

If you're on a Ghost Rider kick make sure to read Jason Aaron's run on the character, it's really great.
