I do, it's not Ghostbusters without the original cast being front and center in my opinion. Wouldn't be surprised if you loved GB 2016 either. No, who cares. They aren't the primary characters.

Obviously no where as good as the original but it's better than Ghostbusters 2.
Not gonna lie the remixed theme and the whole trailer in general slaps for me nowadays:LOL
I did enjoy 2016. Obviously no where as good as the original but it's better than Ghostbusters 2.

"The power of Patti compels you!"
While Ghostbusters 2 is not as good as the original, despite my love for it I acknowledge the flaws or the film, its head and shoulders above the dog shit reboot.Obviously no where as good as the original but it's better than Ghostbusters 2.
I adored Afterlife. After the insulting disappointment that was the “reboot”, this was a strong return to form. I laughed, I cried, I cheered. A love letter to lifelong fans and a great entry point to get new people into the series.
I was so happy with the end result of this movie and its easily(to me) a good second to the original film.
All of the younger cast was outstanding and centering the plot around what it does made a lot of sense.
Yes, it's heavy on nostalgia, but it's tastefully done for true fans. I really hope it gets a sequel, because I'd like to see where it can go.
If it does not, there really couldn't be a better conclusion for the series. Also,
The finale with Egon is so very well done. It didn't feel fake(or forced) and I thought the OGs really did feel the pangs of sorrow that he wasn't there to see it made, especially Murray himself. You can tell he really tried with his role here(though small), perhaps as a cathartic way to put the tumultuous past between he and Ramis behind him.
“My father was the first person to read the script of Ghostbusters: Afterlife, and then I gave it to Erica Ramis (Harold’s widow). I gave it to her kids. I gave it to Violet Ramis (Harold’s daughter) who I grew up with on the set of Ghostbusters. I wasn’t going to make it unless they were on board.”
As much as I loved Dune, this was my favorite movie this year.
Yes you’ll love this one. Huge love letter to the original. If I loved Ghostbusters 1 & 2 and sat there and watched Ghostbusters (2016) like I was watching someone who just burned down the house my family house that my great great great great grandfather built and was pissing on the ashes..
Would I enjoy this one?

Cool, just pre-order the 4K Steelbook!Yes like others have said it’s better then part 2, so if you liked 1 and 2 this one will be a pleasure.
It's a cool tribute to Harold/Egon and a nice Ghostbusters 3. Phoebe was great.
I didn't like a few things in the third act. But overall it's a good movie. Way better than GB2016.
But I hope they don't try to make a franchise out of it.
although I'm a bit disappointed from what I've heard about Paul Rudd.
Was hoping he would become a Ghostbuster.
Seems perfect for it.
All 3? I'm confused... Afterlife is the third oneTrailer makes me want to watch it again. I'll probably watch all 3 GB movies before Afterlife when it releases IN FRICKIN JANUARY in Australia.
The game(2009/2019) seems to be pretty good continuation of GB1/2.All 3? I'm confused... Afterlife is the third one
I see, I got confused because he said "watch"The game(2009/2019) seems to be pretty good continuation of GB1/2.
Well you can watch the cutscenes on YT, it's over 2hours long.I see, I got confused because he said "watch"
That makes sense now..

Shoot there was a second one? Could you let me know what it involved?Of course they are. What did you think the second credit scene was setting up?

It starts with a deleted scene from the first movie where Janine gives Egon one of her World's Fair coins when they're leaving city hall. She tells him she has another at home, and then you see her holding it in present day in Winston's office talking to him. He tells her how he started his company with one person but is now a world-wide empire (because the GB's taught him he had the tools and the talent), and she asks him if he's still paying Ray's shop rent (he is), and he tells her despite all his success he'll always be a Ghostbuster. He then drives the Ecto-1 back into the firehouse (alluding that he's re-opening it) and you see the red light on the containment unit start to blink.
You forgot the final bit..
the containment light blinks get faster, you see a toaster rattling until it falls off the table, then it cuts to the busted containment unit, something has escaped. You then see this hideous big fleshy monster step out of the smoke, then Melissa McCarthy says "Did you miss me"
Jeez did he look directly into the camera and smile and wink when he proclaimed all of that to her?It starts with a deleted scene from the first movie where Janine gives Egon one of her World's Fair coins when they're leaving city hall. 10/10 for me. The OG is my favorite film of all time and you could just feel the love for it in every frame of the film. From the score to the sound effects to the easter eggs to the visual effects to...fucking everything, it was perfect. Egon was everywhere throughout the film, the way the worked him into various scenes was wonderful. And McKenna Grace was the perfect choice to carry on Egon's legacy. I absolutely fucking loved every second of it. Wow.
Jason Reitman’s Ghostbusters: Afterlife is beating its $30M-$35M industry expectations, with an expected $40.5M opening weekend after a $16.5M Friday, which includes Thursday previews. Of that figure, PLF screens and Imax are driving 35% of the gross for the Sony movie
It's doing better than expected.
‘Ghostbusters: Afterlife’ Calls Up $44M Opening Weekend – Sunday AM Update
Sunday AM Update: Sony’s Ghostbusters: Afterlife turned in a $16.1M Saturday, which is very close to the amount of cash that Paul Feig’s 2016 Ghostbusters grossed on its second day of release, all of this amounting to a $44M opening weekend. That’s great, and the sequel blew up in the heartland...deadline.com
With half the budget of 2016 chances are high it will be profitable and we get a sequel.

Podcast reminded me of Ray, which made that bit at the end great. My only major gripe is that Podcast was a little annoying but I did like how he and Phoebe interacted. It's great seeing two slightly eccentric kids having a bit of fun.
