Donkey Kong Country 2: Diddy's Kong Quest is the best game on the Super Nintendo Entertainment System.

if i wanted to play a mario game on the snes, i'd play the all stars version of Mario 3, not a lamer version of Mario 3 with worse powerups and having to backtrack with keys and shit

Did I read something in here about GB experimenting with movie commentary in 2015?

If so, that'd be amazing and I hope we see it sooner rather than later.

yeah man, the frog suit really trounces Yoshi and the cape, huh

the coolest power-ups in 3 are the ones you get like once or twice

Jeff mentioned on the last podcast that he was interested in expanding what the site covers but only if it makes sense for them. Rorie expressed interest in doing more movie stuff and jeff mentioned maybe doing a hip hop podcast as well.

Super Mario World is probably the only SNES game I have ever played. The system is a giant gap for me somehow.

Growing up it seemed everyone went NES to MegaDrive to PlayStation here. Gameboy was everywhere though.

I need to give Link to the Past a go. I got that 3ds Zelda game over xmas so I think I should try the original first before trying the weird semi followup.

Same here. I had, in order of acquisition, an Odyssey, Atari 2600, NES, Genesis, Jaguar, N64, PC, Playstation, PS2, Gamecube, Wii, 360, and then PS4 and WiiU.

People talking SNES might as well be speaking a foreign language. It just wasn't around where I grew up.

I was thinking of this tweet from Jason, but that reminds me I still need to listen to the newest Bombcast.

That reminds me, when Dave Lang did the Raid commentary (and in anticipation of any commentary GB does), I wanted to find an easy way to sync them up.

Turns out, there are a ton of full movies on Youtube, so I made a quick page which syncs them up (I'm not sure on the legalities but they're clearly labelled, have been online for months/years, so I guess the studios collect ad revenue?).

You can check out Dave Lang/The Raid below. When GB get around to doing The Substitute, I'll do the same (it's on Youtube):

Listening to the This Year collection for 2014 & am reminded that it physically hurts me to hear Dan pronounce Ketchup the way he does. The fuck is "catsup".

The Beastie Boys are the first hip hop group in years to have something to say
I found donkey kong land 2 (the gameboy adaptation of dkc2) to be hard, but that could have partly been due to it looking awful and the field of view being so tiny.

I never finished DKC2 or 3. DKC1 is one of my favourite platformers of all time. I need to go back to DKC2. 3 was... odd.

As a child I found DKC2 to be balls hard in comparison to 1 and 3. I don't think I ever made it past the second world.

allow me to entice you back

I always liked Mining Melancholy as a kid, much more than Stickerbush Symphony. Then again, I also liked Fear Factory way more than Aquatic Ambiance in the first one.

DKC1 blew my mind as a kid, I played that game until DKC2 came out. While it was less memorable to me and yeah, it was harder, I still played the shit out of it. Those games were fun. I didn't care for DKC3, though.
