It took Alex to really dig into the whole Hulk Hogan controversy. I know WWE talk has been avoided in Bombcast from complaints but I find stories like this super fascinating.

hope the vita version of n++ materialises soon

in the meantime, i can go through n+ on xbla again, i guess (100%ed it on ds, originally)

nothing about n++'s look i find appealing. I'm not a grafx elitist but i have a hard time putting money down on something that looks like an experimental flash game from 2005. It just does nothing for me and as a guy that still needs to go back and play through Super Meat Boy i'm pretty good on brutal 2d platformers.

Yea, N never appealed to me visually either. I'll try it when it's a PS+ game

I played N when it was a free Flash game. A fantastic platformer that was always a cut above the rest of other Flash games. I could see how some people may be turned off by the physics, but I still thought they were tightly controlled. The level design was questionable, but still a blast to play.

for me, n+ always had a purity of design that meat boy could only dream of. the latter is still a good game, of course, but there's a reason we haven't seen many clones of it in terms of physics

You need to hope real hard, they've not even started it and they've said it's not even guaranteed to happen.

my hope is very hard, pliskin

It's kind of frustrating because I sub to 20+ other podcasts through Pocket Casts, including some premium and GB is the only one having this problem consistently.

the bombcast premium feed finally showed up today, but the beastcast hasn't propagated properly just yet :<

Pretty dumb if that's a default setting

It isn't it defaults to picture which is the default windows wallpaper but if you switch it to slideshow it defaults to one of your photo folders, which is probably what happened in Patricia's case to show the porn. The worst thing is it seems to go through your pictures in order and you can't set it to random like in Windows7/8.

Sounds like people need to wait for those Service Pack updates for random pics.

Can someone give me a quick summary of this Red Ash kickstarter business everyone is tweeting about?

Started as a kickstarter evoking megaman legends, struggled to get to goal, turned out that it managed to secure outside funding anyway, people backing out of kickstarter in protest.

Very short of it:

They ran a Kickstarter for the "prologue" to the game, and now have secured publisher funding for the whole game but are still running the Kickstarter, which looks like it will not meet its goal.

Some time ago, Dan talked about a device he bought that has for purpose making nature sounds to help him sleep. Do any of you have any idea what that machine could be? I'm interested in buying one.

I just use a box fan I got from walmart for pretty cheap. White noise is a great sleep aid.

Look, this is the deal with Red Ash:

Shortly before the release of Mighty No 9 (a game that has had a lukewarm public reception since actual gameplay started being shown) Inafune decides to launch another kickstarter, this time for a Megaman Legends spiritual successor. Already, this causes some concern among folks regarding Inafune's confidence in MN9. People are hesitant.

Then, he decides to make it 2 kickstarters: the game, which has a goal of 800k and that goal would only be for a 2-3 hour prologue with only a PC version being released, and an anime, with a 150k goal for five (5!) minutes of a Japanese animation based on a game that isn't even guaranteed to make its funding. Not only is the 800k goal absurd for a KS that isn't even showing a second of gameplay and was to be a PC exclusive if the goal was met, the fact that there are essentially 2 KSs for Red Ash helped to split the effort of getting the stupid thing funded.

So you had what appeared to be Inafune being opportunistic by starting the KS before MN9 was out, then you had the really high goal for a PC exclusive 2-3 hour adventure, then you had the fact that Inafune was going all in with also doing an anime KS for the thing, splitting the fanbase's efforts up because transmedia blah blah.

the final feather in the cap is that as they were about to fail their game KS for, well, for it being a really poor KS overall they get saved by some no-name publisher and are still willing to take your money for nonexistent stretch goals.

Inafune is being shady as fuck with all of this

I like the Laughing Octopus boss fight more than the others BnB bosses (the last of the BnB moreso for nostalgic purposes). Playing this boss with the volume up and the way music fades away and turns back up is fantastic. i love how claustrophobic it is.

Cradle looks VERRRRY awesome and it looks like a pure strain of Sci-fi. Like....more so than other sci-fi games. It looks amazing.

Yeah, the first thing I noticed(It's been 7 years or so since I've played MGS4), was how dynamic the music was. The loudness of it kinda freaked me out too.

none of the bnb fights are memorable for me. I dont even remember the wolf or raven fight at all.

I do remember some stuff regarding metal gears and epic punching though. so it doesn't lack good boss fights, just that the BnB fights are pretty dull in comparison

I agree that the others are forgettable, but the first and last are memorable. Although neither are on the same level as other MGS games.

Still not on pocketcast?

What the hell?

Add the premium Beastcast feed, worked for me.

Also, from Brad's Tumblr:

a video of brad "brad" shoemaker walking the E3 floor looking around. he gets to the ubisoft booth. slow zoom out, more people are at the ubisoft booth. faster zoom out. all of LA is at the ubisoft booth??? SLOW ZOOM OUT THE ENTIRE WORLD *IS* THE UBISOFT BOOTH. camera tilt down, brad is now at the top of the tallest building on the planet (the UBIuilding (you-be-buildin')), it's the future and his smartwatch minimap is updated. he jumps off, and lands in a bale of hay (cars don't work anymore).

Raven was the only mediocre one. I love the other three.

I mean, they're definitely not the bosses from MGS3, but i like them more than most of the 2 bosses.

I love the Mantis fight. A friend of mine had only beaten the first MGS and never got into the series overall, but I had to bring him over to experience the Screaming Mantis fight first hand because it's not something you can simply watch a video of to fully appreciate.

The point of the entire series is to watch someone experience Metal Gear Solid for the first time with no outside information (outside of some easy easter egg stuff) to see how he would handle it. The audience shouldn't demand anything except maybe Drew having even less information, not more.

I've ran into alot of folks lately who watch/play things that have an explictly obvious theme or factor yet expect totally different. Don't know what's in the water lately.
