He does it with full understanding and acceptance of what he's doing though

that might be worse?

That Star Trek unlimited pass seemed highly questionable to me, but his logic makes sense. Dan would be one to buy knives off of QVC at 3am just because they look cool.

i feel like all vr porn will do is just enhance the 'animal triste' feeling after the job is done

from "well that was awkward *close player*" to "what has my life become?"

I might buy an Occulus. I don't know.

I already think the PS4 is underpowered so I can't even imagine how it'll handle VR. And the Vive seems a little too ridiculous to the point that I don't know who it's for. Occulus has the most name value of those three as well.

I mostly just want to mess with more of the indie/garage dev VR scene

The Raid 2 is bloated and has so much action that you grow numb to it about halfway in.

Raid 1 is alright for what is essentially disc 2 of Shenmue 2.

It's decent, but when people try to compare it to the old HK greats.

Nah son. Raid can't even touch Police Story, Rumble In The Bronx, or Armour of God

Raid 2 is phenomenal. One of the only longer movies I don't feel the length of.
i went down a pretty dark Audiosurf hole for a while

it's weirdly addicting in its own janky way

doubly so if you have a large library of your own music on your computer

edit: I have yet to try Audiosurf 2
I wouldn't say I went down a dark hole but I did play it a fair amount. There were a few songs that I had the best score for and I'd replay once someone overtook me.

Audiosurf 2 looked really cool when I saw it at PAX a couple years ago, but I still haven't bought it yet either.

the funny thing is that The Raid 1, as great as it is, was already pretty close to being too long.

I respect how influential they've been in regards to their action scenes and framing and editing of them and such but, man, they're pretty tropey ass action movies.

It was especially confusing when they brought back the actor who played the mad dog in the raid 2. I spent a significant chunk of time wondering if i fell asleep during the first movie because that shit didn't even make sense

if you like old Jackie Chan movies (I love them), you need to watch this

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Z1PCtIaM_GQ

awesome breakdown of why the stuff he made 30 years ago is still so great now.

as far as I'm concerned, his best movies are nearly untouchable even after all this time.

credit where it's due, someone actually found a use for them

I've seen this video and it's indeed great! Led to me watching some Jackie Chan films I had forgotten too. I grew up watching and loving his movies. Watched way more Jackie Chan Adventures as a kid because of him too.

Actually it's something I've been wondering about for awhile. Is yoshi hate widespread or is giantbomb an isolated incident? I have no idea what the Mario fanbase is like.

You're probably totally right that some people are saying it's great without ever having used a VR HMD, but many of us have been using a developer Oculus Rift for months and are already sold based on our experience.

That's not really what I'm trying to say. I think people trying to sell VR to people who are unsure as "once you try it you'll be amazed" but with no way to feasibly try before buying is a really weak argument in favor of VR.

This is just a personal gripe though. I understand that there's no other way to really sell VR on people

So you try it.

Lemme take out another $600 in student loans

I definitely can afford vr, and I will get vr, but I'll wait till all 3 are reassessed before jumping in.

Persona 5 isn't in VR anyway.

Well, it's not an argument in favor of VR. It's just a statement generally regarded as true.

As a CS major, most of my "textbooks" come in the form of pdfs and GitHub wikis. It's badass.

My university allows me to download pdfs from whatever textbook i'll ever need. Only bought the physical versions in the first semester because I didn't know that.

And CS benefits from having tons of digital content widely available, so good.
