I took archery. also a self-study phys ed class that largely consisted of filling in an online chart of what exercises you did each day.

phys ed requirements in college are stupid

I had a "rest and relaxation" course that was designed to teach us meditation techniques, but most of us just fell asleep on the yoga mats because the room it was it was so warm and the lights were always off. 11:10 - 12:20 was nap time every other day and it was rad.

Galaxy Quest is a great movie. Watched it yesterday after the passing of Alan Rickman and that movie still works. Also I havent seen Tim Allan in years. Wonder if he is still doing stuff.

Oh and Google suggestions for the crew where a lot creepier a few months ago for me. Now it seems pretty dull results of Duders Name - Giant Bomb / Twitter / Tumblr / random game.

I watched Galaxy Quest yesterday morning before the news broke and watched a Harry Potter movie the night before, weird.

Galaxy Quest is still a great movie though.

Rebel Galaxy is an amazing podcast game.

All I could think about while playing Rebel Galaxy is how fucking awesome Freelancer was. Man, I would love to play a game like Freelancer again. It was so cool to explore the universe and find wormholes, derelict spaceships, alien planets and stuff like that.

That's kind of why I got it, but I've found myself just playing Star Citizen instead. RG seems awesome though, I'll get deep into it at some point I'm sure.

What can you currently do in Star Citizen? The last time I played it it was just an empty space (still pretty fun to fly around there though)

Then why are you not playing Elite: Dangerous? My excuse is at least that I am waiting for the PS4 version.

I always thought Elite was a multiplayer only game until recently. I might just have to try it now though. I'm so happy space games are back.

There is the first semblance of the "Persistent Universe". Although it's not yet actually persistent, you can spawn into a space station and call in your ship, which will be delivered to a launch pad. From there you can fly around the system, completing missions, exploring an asteroid belt, repairing your ship at a dock, getting into dogfights with other players, landing on an abandoned station and getting into FPS firefights with other players, stealing other players' ships... It's basically fun, silly nonsense right now but it is an excellent proof of concept and they're improving it every week.

There's also Arena Commander, which is a really fun co-op or competitive dogfighting mode.

Let's take a guess on when the studio is actually setup. I give it at least March before it's a normal looking studio.

Jeff has said as much. Said on Tumblr that it might take a couple of months before they have all the stuff they need. Big companies move slow like that.

The Dragon's Dogma UI was already hilarious and awful on consoles, seeing it running on a PC just has me laughing at how bad it is. Uncontrollable irrational giggling at this Quick Look.

Hey. Remember that time they rented a porn set for their E3 headquarters and all their equipment got stolen while they where at the big conferences?

That is still a hell of a story.

Did they ever find a copy of that porno?

I had no idea they had added all that in, I'll have to check that out. If you lose your ship can you just respawn it for free? I assume at this point there wouldn't be any real penalties for anything.

I want to say that somebody offered a cash reward and it was found within a week. Max Temkin? I think he posted the script, he might have offered a couple hundred dollars to find the movie.

edit: Yeah, Max offered $100 along with posting the script in this forum post

I don't actually have ED, so somebody correct me if I'm wrong but basing on comments from various people, even in the OT, ED seems to be like Destiny on spaceships?

A lot of grinding, not enough differentiated content, disjointed narratives.

Yep, no real penalty for death/ship destruction. It's still an Alpha-ass-Alpha though, there will be bugs and crashes, and server performance isn't great in the PU right now. It's far more stable than it was even a month ago, though. Arena Commander in particular runs GREAT.
