Out of the major fandoms I'm a part of, the anime fandom is the second worst. They don't top Transformers people, but dear god who can.
It's not even anime 'connoisseurs' that are bad. It's mainly people who think their taste is universal. People freaking out about Code Geass, Kill la Kill, Death Note or Attack on Titan like they are perfect pieces of art that can be held to no criticism are infuriating to talk to.

I guess getting good in gunpla is like cooking. Tonight I fucked up everything about my attempt at fried rice that I probably could. My chicken went overcooked, my rice a little too dry, and I used too little egg. But I got the seasoning and vegetables right, and last time my rice was too wet, so now I know exactly what to do with the rice.

How do you watch anime wrong?
I'm guessing people are either telling him he watched the wrong edition of the GitS movie, or it's dumb 'never watch dubs ever' people or people bitching that he hasn't seen Stand Alone Complex as well as the film.
Either that or telling him he needs to read the GitS manga for context for the film.

I recently ran into a YouTube commenter who was a FromSoftware historical purist who hated Souls fans that jumped on the FromSoftware bandwagon late instead of appreciating and understanding their early works. Granted, this person may be the only one of their kind, but if there's a fanbase that's worse than anything it's that.

Those people exist in literally every fandom ever, be it books, movies, art, TV, games, figures. etc. You will always have old fans hating on 'bandwagoners'. It's like a law of nature.
Monster Musume is a horrible disease who's progression must be halted at all costs. Hell, it even invaded the Bombcast at one point in time.
Code Geass is great.
Whenever I try to get into another show, I always get bored and rewatch it instead.

Video cards are going for really cheap. I bought 16GB (8GBx2) of 1866 RAM for $50, and I'm about to buy a 4TB HDD for about $80.
Aside from the monster parts, are the women in MM actually of varying body types? All the designs I've seen come in two styles. Tall and stacked, or short and extremely thin.

Fuck that shit. I absolutely used summons my first time through the game. I think it's perfectly fine and totally rad. The system is cool and they put it there for people to use it. YEAH THAT'S RIGHT I SUMMONED FOR O&S WHAT YOU GONNA SAY ABOUT IT? THAT SHIT WAS REALLY HARD. People should summon if they need the help. I think its fine.
I played it though much much later solo where I twinked out my build and got that Baldur Side Sword (aka Baller Swag Sword) and wrecked everything. But that was well after I'd beaten it a couple other times with summons on.

I've read a bit of the manga (I had to know) and it's just a standard soft-core harem porn. It's just a constantly growing group of gags precisely designed to get the ever expanding cast of females to show their boobs. The fact I've seen it held up as some subversive comedy is cr-azy. Heck, the punchline of at least 1/2 the 'jokes' is BOOBS!
Like, I have no problem with monster girl porn if that's what you're into, but let's not pretend your porn is some super clever piece of comedy.
