"If it's one word I could use to describe Dan it would be 'elitist'."
I feel like Jeff is only down on it due to not really diving in. It seems like a lot of his issue are early pains that will fade away with upgrades.
Just remember that videogames will never make you happy so there's no point in buying any ever.I'm trying to not buy Horizon but this also makes me want to buy Horizon since there's similarities and I can't afford Switch + Zelda.
My self control is going crazy!!

can someone post when they are done with Zelda? Don't want to see any of it. Thanks
I don't think his opinion on the game is that valuable at this point. I'm not saying it will change, or that he is not capable of speaking intelligently about it, but he has played so little of such a massive game. And other have played so, so much more.
Horizon vs. Zelda is gonna be fun at GOTY time.

The Zelda section is over now.

Will we get reductive "but it's basically far cry/skyrim" arguments?

Maybe this one will!
He's always given his impressions on games in an off-the-cuff style. I think that, to the people that aren't used to the way Jeff talks about games, he always comes off as negative. Which is why some people expect him to trash everything. That's not really the case, though.
I'm more curious to here how he feels about it in the coming weeks after he's put more in-depth time into it. Brad seems to be more up on it compared to his thoughts post-E3.

Yeah, I think he himself is kind of saying that when he brings up him not diving in all that much yet. I think he's acknowledging the fact that a lot of his issues could very well be ironed out over the length of the game.
Some issues he brings up though, just seem like weird quibbles to have.
I'm sure these expansions are good and I know they were a kickstarter thing but man I just wish the Shovel Night devs would make a whole new game.

We'll see what he thinks in a couple weeks! The problems he has with it now are such non-issues to me.
Jeff is the king of having weird quibbles with games.
Is there a high pitched whine on this stream or is it my TV?
What's even the next major thing on this console?

This week's Beastcast was great. I almost drove my car off the road when they were ribbing Jeff about the kickstand thing.
