Drew is frustrating in the MGS series, but Dan isn't any better. I don't like how he is always saying "should I tell you what to do next", or "I'll give you a hint, this isn't a spoiler" as Drew is thinking of what to do.

I also feel like Dan is rubbing salt in his wounds by mentioning how many times Drew's died, how everyone should make a death count, and how its only taken him 1hr30min to reach this part. I think is is really putting Drew off, I know I would be pissed.

Dan should just play support (ration equipping), and only help when Drew is truly stuck, or when he asks for help.

But whatever, I'm really enjoying this series and I wish that Drew will continue with MGS after this.

Drew is just also really bad at dealing with guards. I had this problem when I went back to play MG1 for the MSX. I ended up just saying fuck it and started playing around with the guards to figure out what their limitations were and how to take them out quickly. Took me like a few minutes of practice and then I was never scared of them again.
 
I can't say I was expecting Dan to have better Japanese pronunciation than Danny.

I'm sure there's probably a wrestling related reason for it.

This soundtrack is dope as hell.

I created a gui interface in visual basic and tracked down the url for hyrule warriors. Just copy the download link for the hatoful quicklook and replace the title in the url with "hyrulewarriors".

Can you hear that? It's the sound of Reggie oiling himself up and coming for you.

I always find it weird that Brad takes a kind of pride in not playing any Zelda or Mario games in the last decade.

I don't see it as pride, just a statement of fact. Also, he has played a Mario game the last decade, hasn't he? Either the 3DS or the Wii U one? Or maybe I'm making that up.

For what it's worth, there are multiple species of flightless pigeons. Most of them are either extinct or critically endangered though, because people eventually showed up, which means cats eventually showed up.

The Dodo was a pigeon

Hyrule looks like a perfect podcast game. Pretty much how I play Borderlands and Diablo.

edit: also, weirdly, I'm getting a Kingdoms of Amalur vibe.

I can totally see why Brad wouldn't want to play the latter two console Zelda games, but they have some of the greatest dungeon design in the entire series. Also, the characters in TP aren't so weird compared to the rest of the series. Both games honed in on the structure established on OoT and doubled down on a linear route. SS did try and twist the formula by turning overground segments into dungeon areas and twisting the travel system between your objectives, but not change it.

The story was absolutely hilarious and then at the end Jeff is just like, "...that didn't happen."

I meant weird and oddity factor, not the quality of the character models themselves. But it does remind me of that one oddball in Ordon Village. I agree, the character designs were uninspired most of the time.

I think part of the issue for most of the staff is that they see so many videogames.

If it isn't completely different they don't want to waste their time.

Its why you don't see them covering sports games and call of duty.

Hatoful Boyfriend QL is everything I hoped it would be.

Hyrule Warriors QL is more positive than I thought it would be too - I know a lot of the DW fans get annoyed that they always talk about how mashy the games are, this is the first time I can remember that one of the staff acknowledges that there can be more to the combat than that (even if Dan just mentions it in passing, it's progress!). I still have no interest in any game in the series though, slapping a Zelda license on it isn't going to change that.

Gah, I remember the email, of course. No idea what episode that was, sadly. Definitely a Jeffcast. Do you happen to remember more from the episode, like a game that was discussed?
