Giant Bomb Endurance Runs: Season Two - Who The Hell Is Zach?

It goes up around 2 and a quarter hours from now, I believe? The page should be up already, you used to be able to go to them during the persona endurance run and talk about the coming episode or complain.

Brad never seems like he wants to play anything. I swear, that guy hates videogames or something. :lol

I think he's just incredibly tired all the time. But tired or not, he's still awesome on the bombcast.

It's just part of his shtick. It's what makes him play so well against the other guys at GB. That's the real reason GB is so popular: the lovingly antagonistic relationship they all have with each other.

I dunno about that, Jeff and Ryan are BFFs and Vinny is usually the most agreeable guy ever. It seems like Brad is the only one who regularly has opinions contrary to the rest of the crew, but Ryan or Jeff usually bully him until he gives up. :lol

Especially when compared to something like say... 1UP Yours in its heyday, these guys couldn't be further from antagonistic, even jokingly.

Has there been any word on if they actually do one segment per day or just pretend it's now x-day? In the original ER it sometimes felt like they were just making days up :) I mean, the viewer wouldn't be able to tell if they played for 15 hours straight & then just edited it into a few pieces with commentary saying it's now day 32 of the ER or whatever in between.

I see conspiracies everywhere :lol Damn X-files.

That is definitely how they do it. Part two literally started with the same continue screen that part one ended with.

I remember them mentioning on the podcast that they did multiple segments in one day for the Persona 4 run every once in a while.

3 is up! Go go go!! :lol

Excellent!

Still hard to decide which one to watch first. BR leaves me kinda down when I watch it so maybe I should watch that first then feel happy watching VJ later?

Dammit, they should make sure the stream is uploaded first before posting it up :(

Fine! I'll watch BR first, VJ can wait.

Does anyone else know any other "big" gaming sites who are doing things like this?

I'm just wondering because Let's Plays are hugely popular and Giant Bomb seems to be the first to tackle that.

1UP does something called Game Night where they play games on a live stream once a week and take questions. That's about the only other place I know who does the sort of unedited stream of gameplay like GB.

Are they (as in whoever made the game) actually breaking copyright by casually mentioning Star Wars and Tom & Jerry like that? :lol

It most likely protected under parody, or something similar. You're always allowed to make cultural references in a piece of fiction.

Done with Brayn. Too much complaining and waaaaaaay too much taskmaster nonsense from Ryan.

Yeah, I'm on the verge myself. Watching them play is really getting me down. They don't seem to find the humor in it like Jeff and Vinny.

OK. Stuff like this always confuses me, as a lot of games/TV/film seem to go out of their way to avoid references like that.

WTF! I need mai endurance run!!!!

Yeah I think that's what kickstarted my suspicions again :) Because surely, they wouldn't leave their 360s on over night, would they? :D

Also thinking of quitting Team BR, I only really watched it because the VJ stream isn't uploaded yet.

You'd think that after the game had shown that it rewards item hunts that they wouldn't be so "gogogo!" rushing through it, because it just takes them longer in the end.

Yeah, they do that in anime a lot. Except, instead of avoiding it altogether they'll just bleep it. Though they only end up bleeping like half the word so you can still totally tell what they're referencing, lol.

Jeez they're putting these up EARLY considering the west coast and all. Not that I'm complaining.

I believe that's because they've had the episode finished, and just have the system set to upload it at X:00am each day. Except for on days when they don't have one ready, then it will be later. At least that's how it seemed to go for Persona 4.

There was one point in the P4 ER that they got a dream and quit so that it would be the cliffhanger, and the next day Vinny said that they just reloaded a save right before they went upstairs and would just play until they got to where the last episode ended. In that case they didn't get the dream again after reloading so they just missed out.

Also they mentioned a few times that they had left the console on overnight, but I'm not sure that was serious because it would have messed up the game clock and given that their offices lose power frequently it would be a bad plan.

Are there any accessories or devices that make save states on PS2?

Also no way they can leave their 360s on overnight this time :lol
