Jeff sabotaged Life is Strange by Googling the end of the game and relaying it to everyone. The end of LiS can be really good, but taken out of context and when read by someone who clearly doesn't care, it's not going to sell anybody.

That's one of my favorite GOTY moments ever. It was a downfall of their own making since they hadn't finished the game.

Man, Life is Strange was better than any game released this year and it wasn't even the best game released last year.

Literally laughed out loud (Waking up the wife) when Vinny started his The Shining spree. Also, got extremely bummed out when he died, I was rooting for him to finish the mission.

Didn't Brad somehow get Destiny into the top 10, but it was also their most disappointing game that year?
I feel like Brad and Jeff joining forces could totally get DOOM the top spot, and there's Drew....

The last chapter of Life is Strange is pretty bad anyway outside of the ending so I was fine with this, lol

yeah, i love it as well and would have thought it was p silly for life is strange to make the list given that nobody finished the game and it's an incredibly story-driven game
i couldn't get passed the first episode personally with that diablo cody writing for teenz-esque script... you expect me to finish a narrative-heavy game with that kinda dialogue? i don't have the time.
Haven't listened to the podcasts for awhile, was Overwatch really that loved by the East crew? Doom got a LOT of love from the West at launch, but never kept up during Overwatch's release.

It's rather amazing how poorly Brad and Dan do in this Hitman video.
As someone that hasn't watched any of their premium Hitman content, Vinny's whole run made me say to myself "Yeah, I can see why a lot of people think it'll win GotY from them".

They kept playing it for months, mentioning it often on the Beastcast. Dan was in a similar situation over on the West coast.

Alex and Vinny are both super into Overwatch, enough that they have gone into many boring tangents about it on the Beastcast. Dan loves the game too.

I skip all their Hitman stuff since I own the game but haven't played any of it yet. I don't want to watch their stuff and go into any of it with any existing knowledge or have it influence how I go through each level at least one time through.
That said I'm pretty pumped about all the Hitman content I have stacked up to watch from them as the bit I've gleaned seems to be that it usually is really enjoyable to watch. Should be a good time.
Even without seeing any of the videos I've been expecting Hitman to come out on top (and if not #1 I figure it's a definite top three).

Not really. I like Overwatch the game, it's just not an interesting game to listen to other people talk about recurringly. It's like listening to people talk about their fantasy football teams, it's only interesting for the person talking.
Ah gotcha. Given's today's podcast it seems at least Vinny really felt strongly for Doom at least as well. Was hard to read Alex's take. Brad and Jeff though, its got to be a lock.
Was surprised at the Superhot love as well. Jeff and Vinny practically sold me on it today, wouldn't be surprised if they even go harder for that over Doom in deliberations given their tone.

Jeff loves Doom. Titanfall 2 and the Witness are probably his other top games.
Doom and Superhot for Jeff seem likely given today's podcast. (Oh and he did love the Witness earlier this year). Jeff was a bit soft on Doom today, but only given the category they discussed.

Fuck. Alex's take down of Palmer was a thing of beauty. I'm so glad he kept pushing it, because it was clearly an uncomfortable thing for people to talk about, but he didn't shy away from addressing what it was beyond the "politics."

1:06:20 into the GOTY Day One video: the first time in recorded history that I agreed with Dan on something over Vinny. I don't even know what to do with myself anymore, my world is shattered.

I've played neither but I was kind of with Dan myself just based on their discussion points...until Vinny landed his final counterpoint and won me back to his side. I should really play both of those.
