I genuinely cannot tell if any of them liked Uncharted 4. Most people seemed to like Nadine, or that One Shoreline Woman Who May or May Not Have Done a Thing At the End Possibly.
I'm more active in my dislike of that game than they are, but every time it comes up, I feel like they might as well be from the Neutral Planet.

I hate when people try to drag others into arguments. Dan has admitted to knowing very little about politics so why should he jump into such an extremely sensitive topic without knowing the facts? That's exactly how people like Trump ends up running your country.

It's a dumb reason, and I'm not saying it's great that he's kinda aloof about foreign matters, but it is a different thing.
How is it possible to still not know the facts after Alex lined them out for the table on the podcast? I have no doubt that Dan is aware of the facts and is opposed to Luckey, but he effectively took a neutral stance to the ears of casual podcast listeners by not even chiming in to say "Yeah, fuck him" like everyone else did (besides maybe Drew I think). That's all I'm saying. Suggesting he's still ignorant of politics to such an extreme degree here at the end of 2016 is incredibly damning.

Why should he jump in just to say fuck him? If he wants to sit there and let people who know the topic better explain it then he should. Sometimes you don't have to say anything. Seems in like last few years you HAVE to have an opinion about everything at all times and if you don't then you're an arsehole. Fuck that. I was so excited for inside because I fucking love Limbo, but yeah... It definitely feels like Playdead's ambition got the better of them.
I legit got to the end of Inside and said "Wait, that's it?" I thought it was the midway point and that this was the reveal that was going to make the game start making sense but nooooope, it just ends.

It took me a bit to "get," I guess. I didn't really start liking it until I started viewing it as a character action game in first person.
Playing it after Titanfall 2 didn't help, because I kept wanting to run on walls, but I was eventually able to start enjoying it as a FPS God of War.

I admire the "throwback to classic Doom in a modern game" feel, but yes - playing it after TTF2 makes it feel super restrictive.
Or maybe he has an opinion but does not feel the need to express it since the sentiment has already been well covered by the room. Does he need to start posting all his thoughts and opinions in public before you're satisfied?

Kinda weird how annoyed they got by the end of Horde mode getting hard, as IMO that seemed to be the only part where it got interesting. Even on casual, I don't really see the point of a horde mode where you can just breeze through.

I'm sort of surprised how so many people in this thread get surprised by how rubbish some of the reasoning can be during these GOTY delibs. I love the Giantbomb crew as far as personalities and a lot of the content they make, but they've always been pretty poor critics as far as what I would like from a critic.

Though if Dan did actually come out and say "I know the KKK was a thing, but is it still a thing?" I don't know that my brain would actually respond. Like a synapse might fire or something, but I wouldn't lose my shit in surprise.
Just looking at the sidebar links on the GB site, saw this, which is Greg Miller's top 10 games of 2016.
I am almost positive, I heard Greg on PS I Love You reacting with absolute derision when the Telltale Batman game was announced. Said something like Telltale had jumped the shark. Now look, a guy can change his mind, but that's some turnaround.
There is a chance I'm wrong about that and am thinking of a different podcast but I don't think I am wrong.

The ironic thing is that's the entire point of publishing the deliberations. To show the world how dumb arguments for GOTY lists are.
I mean the entire point of putting out the podcasts and videos has always been to showcase how ridiculous the process of deciding a GOTY is

I was liking it for a few hours but my excitement dies died down quickly. Sold it quick. I am glad it's widely appreciated, tho. It's for sure a quality game and I like that a more raw action shooter like that was able to get such praise.
