Giant Bomb |OT32| I've been meaning to love a boat

I can't watch the Brad stream. He's only doing 1080p and my phone doesn't wanna load it. At least I can just chat and do audio on mobile app lol

Played some of that Fortnite Battle Royale. Having never played PUBG, I can kinda see how people have gotten really into it. Despite how bad Fortnite feels (especially playing it in between Destiny 2 and Overwatch, both of which feel phenomenal), I still had that high of getting kills and surviving for long, and wanting to jump right back in when I got killed immediately.

I'll probably give Fortnite some more hours for the next week to see how it sits, but man do I wish it didn't feel so cheap, both in controls and aesthetics.

Also, yeah, it's shameless af what Epic did, but also yeah Bluehole is the king of PC gaming right now and they're swimming in money so I can't really feel too bad for them.

Won't get to see all of the raid stream live, but I'm excited for it. I beat it with a great group of fellow Gaffers who were patient and friendly, and we had a real good time. Every victory felt amazing, and folks would keep it light and encouraged each other.

Of course, it probably helped that two of us already knew what to do for most of it, so it was just a matter of execution.

I admire the crew's insistence to come into it blind and try to figure it out on their own, but I have a feeling it's going to be a mess! Brad will probably have to speak up sooner than later to guide the way. Only other Destiny raid I've played is Vault of Glass, and from what I remember of that raid, this one relies way more on every single person doing their job perfectly.

I like Six Crazy Frights now that I've watched it, but I dunno if it's super amazing. Most of it is due the game. I kinda can't stand to watch PT being played after the initial moment. Not because it's too scary but I kinda get frustrated how most of the game is just frustrating obtuse bullshit. That's not even really that fun to watch someone bang their head against.

How dare you lol

PT is easily the most I've ever been unsettled by a horror game. Trying the get to the ending is silly but damn that thing is creepy as hell.

That's my point. It's unsettling until it just becomes so silly that it undermines itself.

If it could maintain its atmosphere while being this obscure ARG thing I would have been more impressed but it didn't for me.

Anyone know where I can find those older IGN podcasts that Jeff referred to?

I find those early 2005/06 game podcasts to be fascinating

I think that's why he's been rockin' the goatee. He just pasted that on and got everyone used to it so that he Clark Kent'd his way back into Giant Bomb and none were the wiser.

The issues with PT are the bullshit you need to find or do to make progress. Early game before the eyeball bullshit is okay, but even then if you miss something, you might get stuck in a loop of getting murdered by Lisa. The last section is the absolute worst because of the hoops you had to go through and was even worse when it first came out and there wasn't a guide.

PT is scary af, but it also has a ton of gameplay barriers because puzzles are more obtuse than they need to be.

That's 90% of horror games that fail to keep it fresh throughout.

I mean I don't think every horror game does that. Most of the silent hill games are able to not lose sight of their core atmosphere. The borderline stuff (as in not really horror games but definitely have a core atmosphere of horror) like Soma and STALKER are able to do that.

I think you might still be able to find old Gamescoop, Three Red Lights, Podcast Beyond, and Wii-k in review by simple google search.

I adore those old podcasts (although they're filled with all kinds of gross shit that would be no-go today for obvious reasons). They got me into the whole scene. I learned what neogaf was from Mark Bozon's old internet commentator impersonations.

Here, I'll do the work for you:

So I bought the Ruiner bundle with the OST, seeing that the OST is a big reason why I'm buying it.

Doesn't appear in folder.

Huh.

Go to the reviews page and sees that no one else got their OST.

Steam's OST buying system is fucking weird mang.
