Giant Bomb |OT32| I've been meaning to love a boat

Mario/Rabbids is novel, but I can totally get why Jeff (IIRC) said it was best played in small doses. It can kinda drag.

I find the puzzle stuff is what throws me off. I did the challenges for both world 1 and 2 in one sitting each as it's more rapid fire. battle battle battle.

Most annoying to me is that I give zero shits about all the bonus treasures like art, models and soundtracks. But they sprinkle enough orbs in there that I feel obliged to look for all the chests.
I highly disagree with that, maybe for the first two worlds it's a fun romp but the moment you get you World 3 I'd say it's about as hard as X-Com on Hard.

I'm in 3-8 (maybe 7?) and I keep waiting for this supposed bump. The mid boss was done in three turns and only one person (Mario) took any damage. With Rabbid Mario and Rabbid Luigi's maxed out slide attacks you can devastate everything super quickly. The game is only truly tricky in escort missions because the turn timer is always ticking away at the perfect rating.

I'm guessing the challenges for World 3 will likely be rougher but that's because I'm assuming they'll be escort missions with slow ass Toad.

Re-listening to GOTY 2014 because of Destiny and it's still amazing. Alex with the top 10 anime betrayal re: Mario Kart and Brad with some of the worst GOTY arguments in history to get Destiny on the list.

GOTY podcasts are so much fun.

Inca People is one of the weird Giant Bomb bits where the content makes the bit over the guys; like, yeah, the head bob is funny, but that song is fucking hilarious.

714 isn't that large a number. Especially if you play each for like 2 minutes at a time on an emulator.

Edit: A near-complete NES torrent is like 70 MB. That might as well be 0 MB!

That's not how Jeff does things. You've seen an episode of that ancient Ranking of Fighters feature, right? They could play each game for like 10 minutes and move on but no, they've got to play them way longer for their boring science stick.

Just go through those games, man.

Jeff's words: "Bare minimum 20 minutes"

Because there's nothing worse than old games.

There are many NES games that don't deserve 20 minutes.

Hell, even if it was 20 minutes, that's about 100 hours total, unless I got my math wrong.

If he really wants to be masochistic, Jeff can do that in a weekly series that lasts two years of his brief life in which he has a wife and cat to care for.

Sigh, I know way more about SEO than I really want to...

No, it's not an issue. It so doesn't keep them up at night. Porn results are heavily deprioritized in google. Also the BBC has the benefit of having extremely high quality links to it and its properties, while the other term... uh... doesn't.
Just had to quote this because it's my favorite post in the thread so far.

I think 20 minutes would be totally fine tho. If you're only gonna play a game for 2 minutes you might as well not bother.

Also I would happily watch Jeff play every NES game but I understand why he doesn't want to do it now

If eight Giant Bomb members do simultaneous NES steams and coordinate properly to split the games amongst them, that's only about 12 hours a piece at 20 minutes a game. For the entire selection of NES games.

That's straight-up doable.

That was my suggestion for Monday content. Stay at home. Everyone does a 2h stream or they record themselves. Release that in chunks over the week. Easy.

It just makes too much sense.

That sounds dull and just filler content for the sake of having content. I'd rather they play something together.

No.

You're wrong.

This would give us weekly chill Brad streams.

This is the goal here.

Plus more content in general.

I would take it if only one of them does a 2 hour stream each week and they cycle around.
Just give me more than two Brad-streams a year.

Well get Brad to play some Switch games as and when they come out if he's interested in them. Everyone playing NES games sounds good for those with dogs that they leave on their own so they have some noise, the elderly and that's about it.

Why? We don't know if Monday streams are going to continue post-PUBG (my bet is of course they won't) so having them just recording 2h each on Monday and release those videos one by one each week would do wonders for the schedule. It would also be a nice way for someone like Jason to appear again. His strongest content are his streams at home. And he could play some weird Japanese games.

Heh, that's not how I meant it. Jeff could do the NES thing, Brad could play Zelda on Switch (although limiting himself to only play on stream might be a bit much, but I think it would be ok if he just dropped in and out of Zelda wherever he currently is) , Jason some Japanese game, the rest whatever.

Nah we already have murder island for that.

I mean, I'm not against your idea at all, in fact it sounds great.
I'm just saying if it, for some reason, isn't feasible there would be a lower effort alternative that could still be pretty cool.

I do think GBW needs to create a feature where they just run through older titles like Jeff said. Just let the others mess around as well so it's not just him and do more than NES games. Hell, I wouldn't mind if they spend 1 episode on an old console and just run through games until they start off from the beginning. Just make a fun game similar to Steal My Sunshine and they'll do well.

How could it get lower effort than just playing at home? They wouldn't even have to record it. Just stream natively from the PS4, Xbox One or use the capture cards some of them own. Dump it all on the internet at the same time and put it on the schedule throughout the week or something. Instead of a bunch of them going to the studio each Monday to record PUBG they could optimize their Mondays that way. Min maxing. Comparing numbers. Content Schedule Simulator 2017.

Someone with a tumblr account should ask Jeff if this was feasible or not. My gut tells me Jeff just doesn't have interest in this for whatever reason. It sounds so much smarter to do it this way though.

I'd be okay with the random solo stream every Monday once the PUBG streams die down, but I'd prefer if they keep Mondays as a cross-coast multiplayer stream. We really don't get enough of both coasts playing with and off each other.

I'm biased right now since I'm loving Destiny 2, but I'd really like to see them play it and maybe do the weekly Nightfalls.

But any multiplayer game would do honestly. I just need more WestxEast content!

What are nightfalls? From what I've seen the raids would be fun to watch once but not really great viewing if they just grind the same raid over and over.

Also man you would think a sick day would be a great time to catch up on games but sometimes you're so sick that you don't feel like doing anything.
