Giant Bomb Thread #4: A thread of perceived slights

Whoo new thread. Didn't find the perceived slights thing all that funny but ah well. Eagerly awaiting the next Unprofessional Friday, and pretty interested to see the Antichamber Quick Look knowing next to nothing about the game but its buzz.

Which is that? I watched them all during the initial run but had to stop my rewatch due to getting caught up with school.

tohru "bitches" adachi shows the world his true face.

Good call, but I was referring more to what happened in that episode. I'm pretty sure nothing ever topped
the bufu mistake.

Pfftt, bufugate doesn't even hold up to the one episode where
teddie walks into the real world.

I wish I could watch the friday live show live... Both have been quite fantastic and rather reminiscent of Happy Hour - I'm glad they also are all taking turns in presenting/playing a game or whatever. Very enjoyable stuff.

starting the persona 4 videos. Only like an hour or so into it. On episode 6 to be exact.

What am I getting myself into
I started watching it as well a few weeks ago and have already plowed through 54 episodes. I've actually had to force myself to stop watching it, since I've never actually played Persona 4 and really want to once I get a Vita. I'm not sure it could possibly be as much fun as watching Jeff and Vinny play it though. :(

With all this Deadly Premonition Director's Cut coverage hitting the Internet I decided it was time to watch the Deadly Premonition Endurance Run again (just Vinny & Jeff's playthrough). Third time watching it, I think I like the Deadly Premonition Endurance Run just about as much as Persona 4's. Love it.

I watched the entire run a couple of years ago but still go back to random eps every once in a while. Tonight Nanako got in trouble because Vinny and Jeff had Charlie take her out shopping. Man, Dojima is a terrible father. It's no wonder Nanako just watched quiz shows all day.

Don't want to bump the old Bombcast thread but on last weeks show (01-22-2013) they talk about a JRPG that was 60fps and was never translated. I can't catch their pronunciation of it, it's at 1:16:40.

Do you have the time right, as at that point they are talking about summons in the Final Fantasy games?

They then mention the fighting game Tobal No. 1, which ran at 60fps it also came with a FFVII demo disc, hence the segue. Tobal No. 1 had a dungeon mode as an extra feature.

That game sounds like Ergheiz, which was a fighter with an additional dungeon RPG mode (and FF7 characters).

I think they used both Tobal No.1 and Tobal 2 as the backbones for it especially as they are all Square games. Even wikipedia makes mention they were all developed by the same guy. Either way the answer to Sleeplessnights question is Tobal No. 1.

What could 'Unannounced Game' be? Battlefield 4? I guess that's technically announced.

There's probably a ton of unannounced games right now, just waiting for the new consoles to be announced. But, then again, it may be way too early for them to be getting looks at them, right?

Or do they often get sneak previews well before they start talking about a game?

Dojima was trying to make her absorb as much trivia and pop culture knowledge so he could get her to compete professionally one day. Nanako is Dojima's last chance to get out of the game for good, and she'd be his ticket to freedom, if she'd only listen.

Maybe is because I grow with a single parent, but I actually empathize with Dojima at many points or at least I think I understand that he is trying...

But then again, dunno, not the most optimal childhood in my case.

Dojima does sort of withhold himself from Nanako, but because he fears he'll screw her up even worse if he tries to actively parent her. He figures the best thing he can do is give her closure on her mother.

It's misguided, but understandable.

The worst thing is that it kind of happened in my case (but with a mother and without a "big bro")

Oh my God, I can't stop laughing

The gifs in the main thread are hilarious.

I'm currently on episode 54 of the Persona 4 Endurance Run. I'm so hooked that I don't want to watch other shows/movies until I'm done.

Yeah, at this point, it could be anything, this gen or next at this point.

On a side note, anyone feel like Giantbomb is kind of being hamstrung more by Gamespot than actually it being an all out positive venture of Giantbomb being bought out, what, a year ago? It seems like Jeff is always hung up with meetings and such, they kind of get ganked by HR (which I definitely do see why, but still) when Alexis did his nuggs challenge with diabetes, ect?

It seems like they are always too busy now especially with nothing really going on as far as games being released, news or upcoming games; but then again, I don't see all the behind the scenes either for what they do see and they don't tell us and such.

I'd love to be a fly on the wall for those meetings. I don't understand why there are so many meetings when Giant Bomb works best autonomously. Not even dat CBSi money got them a better housing for their E3 shenanigans.

Got up to go to a meeting, came back, and the first song that played on my Amazon Cloud Player was Your Affection.

So I'm now rewatching the P4 Endurance run as well.

I'm scrolling past posts in this thread to avoid spoilers for a 3 year old video of a couple of guys playing a 4 year old game.

What is my life coming to?

Behold, the new format of entertainment.

Edit: The number 1 thing I want in the new site is the ability to chain feature links together. It's a pain in the ass watching endurance runs outside of the HTML5 theater, and even then, the numbering is rarely sequential on a search.
