I'm not that up on SFV issues but they beta tested the fuck outta that game didn't they? Why so janked?

They hd 4 beta tests, but they all were just for pre-orders and stuff. Not being ready for the real load is part of the problem. Should have made a public beta.

Oh having that many I assumed one would stress test things like that. Kind of regrettable.

They didn't have any of that lobby stuff or single player modes in the beta. But overall I had a better experience during the beta than in the full game.

I'd probably be less concerned about release-week server issues if literally everything in the game didn't depend on being connected to their servers. That your single-player story mode (what there is of it) needs to talk to the servers at all times is kind of insane

Did the whole, Giant Bomb crew in my Xcom 2 squad. So far I lost Austin and Jason. Jason was lost on his first mission. I hated to see him go but he was a rookie, I hadn't grown attached.

Austin was a different story. He had several missions under his belt, before he was gravely wounded. He was shaken after that. In his first mission back I really wanted to get him through unharmed to hopefully build up his confidence (Alex went through the same thing, came out a stronger man) but at the last encounter in the mission, he took a minor hit and panicked. He put himself in a terrible location and fired a wild shot. Those were his last moments. Critically hit by a Muton and that was that. Senseless really. If he had held it together, just one of his grenades would have been all we needed to leave that mission with just a minor injury.

Alex and Drew are my specialists and they have been rock solid in that role. Alex even uncovered a hidden talent. He remains concealed even when the rest of the squad have been discovered. Alex was shaken early but after surviving a flawless mission he now has the strongest will among my soldiers. Drew just does his job, mission after mission. I don't know if he has ever been touched.

Brad and Dan are grenadiers. Dan has been on the team since the beginning and has the most kills by a fair margin of the GB crew in my squad. I swear he's been gravely wounded 10 times. For whatever reason, he can't be shaken. Brad came in later but he pulls his weight because grenades are goddamn incredible. He seems to follow Dan around mostly. I get the sense that he wants to be grenadier that Dan has become.

The only other GB member that has been recruited so far, hasn't seen a mission yet. He's been locked away in the psi lab, training, just waiting to be unleashed on the alien menace. Vinny Caravella has given up a normal life to become a perfectly honed human psionic weapon.

As Xater said, they didn't do an open beta when they really should have.

Especially considering the servers are getting hit even harder with the full game. They have to hit them for everything, from costume unlocks, to XP and FM you get for completing something in the game.

Yeah, it makes sense why it needs to do that but that doesn't make it less shitty.

It's baffling, they seemingly put in a whole lot of work before launch testing the netcode and the servers and then they stumble right before the end.

My Alex died on a dark VIP mission trying to get to the extraction point with Justin Trudeau and Dennis Reynolds from Its Always Sunny in Philadephia.

RIP Alex 'Cowboy' Navarro.

The network issues in SFV seem to be mostly solved btw. I managed to get a couple of hours of fights with no problems. Just ranked fights and casual fights though, don't know about lobbies.

Drew was the only duder I put into my XCOM game. He was a solid #3 ranger who didn't make the cut for the final mission but came up clutch on a mission-ending overwatch shot that took out a Faceless who was about to smack the hell out of one of my guys.

Yeah that everyone was talking about him getting married and seeing the pics was probably not obvious enough.
I have been like more out of the loop on GB content then I have been. Usually i watch everything, listen to everything and follow these threads.

I'm lucky if I can finish a Tuesday bomb cast before the beast cast :( I hate adulting

finally watching Ranking of Fighters and Power Moves has the greatest collection of bootleg SF2 tracks. They basically changed some notes around lol. Shame they don't comment on that.

I feel like Metal Gear Scanlan only just returned but now its been taken away from me.

What is the requirements needed to unlock the final mission again? Off the top of my head its.

Do all the unique story missions after mission 30. (OK to skip remixed missions)
Upgrade motherbase to max.
And maybe you got to listen to all the yellow tapes?

Have they listened to a single tape yet? I almost wish Dan didn't look it up to find out what's necessary, having a never-ending feature would go nice for all of the premium drought complaints.

It requires that a man who by his very nature always avoids doing side quests in any and all games that he plays do at least a dozen hours worth of both side quests and actual missions to complete the game, as well as leave all yellow marked tapes running in the background.

I'd almost rather he didn't even bother, he's already clearly done with the game and anything past this point is going to be a lot of drew whining about the end of MGSV. Which he wouldn't be in the wrong to whine about, really.

I think drew should've just played the game on the side, Drew mustve felt pressured to play it in an action style to keep it entertaining when the best parts of the game are being stealthy and using your tools to try and finish missions undetected.

So im not going to be shocked when they do a livestream of drew either playing Dan's save file for the final mission(s) thus skipping the bullshit or if they simply watch the last few cutscenes and call it a wrap. I at least hope that they do just load either dan or jason's or whomever's save file to let drew play the last few "real" missions so that he can at least put a bow on the game properly.

Holy shit, I'm watching through the Persona 4 ER for the first time, and in episode 80 Vinny makes a Gunpla reference. Are we living in the Matrix?

Holy shit, calling SFV half-assed seems like you're granting it way too much ass. This game seems quarter-assed at best.

And I know it was due to time/budget issues but... man. This is dire. I feel like if you have a core this good and an IP this important, you've gotta do whatever it takes to CRUSH IT.

Yep, this is not some rinky dink IP like Bloody Roar. This is fucking Street Fighter. Capcom these days doesn't want to spend money on anything it seems.

Vinny was always anime

You leave bloody roar alone, atleast their anime cutscenes were well-drawn. And it actually launched with complete story modes.

Yo, I probably played way too much Bloody Roar 3 than I should have, but you have to agree that in the pantheon of fighting games it's a footnote.

Now I'm wondering what the hell would have happened if Sony hadn't stepped in to get this game made. Would Ryu and Ken be the only fighters? Danger Room training stage as the only level? No online at all?

They sold fifty-five different versions of Street Fighter 4, how the hell did they not have enough resources to finish this game?

Seems like a FTP Early Release game that sells starter packs only in the early stages. Maybe it has a little too much production to consider it on that level, but the feature set at launch and how the plans seem planned it really seems like a FTP Early Release style content structure.

Before Sony jumped in, Capcom talked about a 2018 Street Fighter release. So we just wouldn't have a game yet.

edit: Rephrased it.
