Man the NSMB console games were pretty great. I hope they come back to them at some point.
Edit: And that GRIP Unfinished makes the game look great. It's a shame that I'm so awful at racing games or I'd give it a shot.

Sounds like a cool concept, I'm surprised no one's made a game about Japanese teenagers doing that before.
In Trails of Cold Steel, you
form a team with a bunch of classmates at school and have NPCs with exclamation marks over their heads you can talk to to start sidequests and have social links that can improve your ability in combat and have an all-out attack when you crit and you can push square to fast travel around town and go to class where you ocassionally answer questions and there's a multi-day midterm exam and there's a school festival where you and your classmates put on a musical performance.
