The worst thing about this is that i wish half of these people moaning about Quantum Break actually gave a shit about the game and all this petulance wasn't just solely because they took a hit on their list warz

Eh, it makes a little more sense now that he's talking it out. Basically he thinks the fact that it's not exclusive devalues his purchase of an Xbox as a whole. He bought one for exclusives, he pays 60 dollars a year for multiplayer, etc etc, and now PC players who don't have to pay get to play the game too, probably with better performance and with mouse and keyboard and against console players.

It's a stupid argument, but I can KIND of see where he's coming from. I guess he feels lied to because he wouldn't buy an xbox if there were no exclusives

Edit: Quantum break looks pretty cool. I hope it performs well on PC at 1080p high without that monster of a system that they want though. Hopefully it's a MGSV situation where the recommended specs are way overkill.

It's all about how it scales. Remedy has the experience, I trust them to make a game that scales well across minumum -> recommended, especially an Xbox One title. I'll wait for impressions because we're talking about the first big DX12 release here but I'm optimistic and actually excited considering the recommended settings are so high. If it isn't a mess and they are utilizing that power it could be insane.

I don't understand why I've seen the pay for multiplayer argument so much today when Quantum Break is a single player only game.

I hope it's more of a "Guys you gotta believe us play this game in 4k on ultra it's gonna look SOOOO DOOOOPE" recommended specs situation.

I also don't think it's gonna look like crap on Low or anything, It's very possible that the "min" specs will get you what Xbox owners are going to get.

Also, this just lends more credence to my theory that Phil Spencer really just wants to move the xbox brand in a direction that just makes it into a type of steam machine.

Quantum Break is an especially stupid game to be upset about given Remedy's history and how they basically winked winked and nodded nodded about a PC version the entire time they were making the game. Like what person who has followed Remedy ever really thought that QB was never coming to PC?

It's a childish argument he's trying to justify with bullshit. It's fanboy list wars and that's it. However, he's getting a lot of attention for his stupidity and based on what he's saying, I'm sure his target audience will eat it up. He'll probably get a nice little bump in subscriptions.

It's absolutely childish and bullshit, but you reap what you sow and it surely wasn't just for fun that Remedy constantly danced around whether or not the game was coming to PC instead of just admitting it. Microsoft wants people to have this sort of attitude, otherwise they'd be more upfront about "exclusives" like Tomb Raider and Quantum Break. They'd just rather that craziness get directed at others instead of themselves.

Agreed. However, I do think Microsoft should be more up front with this stuff. Announcing the PC version 3 months before launch makes it look like you were trying to hide that information to boost Xbox sales. I don't necessarily believe that or even really care, but they definitely need to work on their messaging still.

This is the first I heard of the guy, that quote is just what he has on his twitter. It wouldn't surprise me. This type of fan has definitely been incubated on social media. Now it's backfiring a bit here.

New Mexico in the same way there's a New India and New Brazil. I think they might have actually forgotten New Mexico is already a real thing.

I don't mean to pile on Dan, but what does he do with his XCOM time? He is so far into the late game but doesn't have the top tier of armor or weapons.

Sony seem to be doing fine with sales, so I doubt that's a big worry for them.

I don't think he was playing super seriously, he was just showing stuff off.

But after being punished hard for tiny mistakes for 25 hours your eyes start twitching when you see someone playing "wrong". I don't think i could watch someone play xcom badly and not backseat game unless i really wanted to see them fail.

There was a point where he dashed his guy into a spot with no cover despite the spot right next to it having cover. I never like to complain about stuff like this, but the difficulty complaints combined with the way he was playing made me want to yell at the screen.

As a primarily PC gamer, I hope the numbers keep showing that console and PC gamers are mostly different markets, as far as, Sony and MS are concerned so the console manufacturers continue to not consider PC while making their 3rd party exclusivity deals.

Jep. Let the numbers be big enough that we get decent ports but otherwise i'm fine being on the sidelines of the console war.

I get the sense that every late PC release has been a success story. Takeaway isn't the late part, but PC is this huge market not to be ignored. Even with a small gap, Rise of Tomb Raider sold something like half of what it did on XB1 and 360 in its first week.

With budgets getting so high people should be happy about PC showing itself as a market pillar that makes big games still viable. Instead we just get people bitching about protecting their chosen platform and worrying about list wars. I see this ridiculous sentiment in a lot of the threads about Japanese PC ports.

Serves a pretty good purpose in XCOM 2 though. The last game you could just overwatch everything to death and play super passively. It adds a sense of urgency and tension to the whole thing.

If it's that much of a bother there are multiple mods to extend the turn timers.
