Giant Bomb's Game of the Year Thread: Skyrim? Skyrim? Skyrim? Skyrim? Skylanders!

Hoping for a Brad filibuster this year.

Also, I'd be fine with Saints Row, Skyrim, etc taking a bunch of awards.

subscribing to this bitch. Can't wait

Hour and a half until the video goes up, with no mention of a podcast yet...

Yeah, I think it'll just be one on Friday or Saturday.

Last year I was pulling for York or Deadly Premonition to win fucking anything, and got goose egg.

Come on Dark Souls.

It'll probably find a way into the lower half of Vinny and Patricks person lists, and Rorie/Will if they do one. It doesn't seem like Brad ever got around to play it before they recorded the podcasts though.

Im pretty sure that Brad played it...at least I think I remember him talking about it.

I'm partial to Skyrim. It's the game that re-ignited my love for the hobby.

Ghost Trick was great but it really was a adventure game with trial and error gameplay wrapped up with some really great animation. It's not GOTY material regardless of whether it's a handheld title. Skyrim is my pick. I just don't see anything else coming close.

That may be true, but I prefer rewarding new experiences than that of established formula's, and while Skyrim is great (really good, mind you) it's just a way better Oblivion, which was just a poor mans Morrowind.

Ghost Trick then and even now is unlike anything I've played this year. Same goes for Bastion, but that's a whole other fight I'd never win.

Completely forgot about Bastion. I can't remember them saying a single negative thing about that game.

They didn't even wanna review because of how much they'd gush over the game... that and the dudes over at Supergiant Games and GB is like what dubstep is to Trackmania.

no this year.......... GOTY.................

a zelda game......

Skyward sword.....................
Your haiku took a wrong turn somewhere.

Holy Mad Dog Mcree flashback!

Seriously, how the hell did Ryan get the
cyber gun
and is able to play deckers.die on the 360 version? Am I mis-remembering the order of events here?

Edit: Oh wait, I think I remember how you get the gun now.

The beginning of the video was brilliant. And I always figured Vinny was something like Zordon; the rest of the guys must be his teenagers Time Trotters with attitude.

Saints Row: The Third looks like a ton of mindless fun.

Will listen to podcast later. This is one of my favourite weeks on the Giant Bomb calendar; the guys put a lot into this, and the video/podcast editing is great. :D
