Glee Season 3 [OT] thread of pure love and acceptance

Ginger Supremacy Racism is just about the perfect over-the-top backstory explanation for Emma's OCD. I strangely love it.

Originally is was because her brother pushed her into the runoff/swill on a farm.

Ugh...they're trying to add weight to the Schu/Emma relationship but it's just not working. Now this sucks AND is creepy.

Overall, meh episode.

And while I think the writing and general cohesiveness has improved, I really don't like how they'll completely flip characters personalities to suit what they want to happen within a single episode.

Mercedes has never been portrayed to be a weak link in the glee club, and vocally she's always been one of the strengths of New Directions. She's always been committed to the Glee club. So I didn't buy (or like) the sudden idea that she's supposedly always been lazy and half-committed.

Good for her for demanding that her talents start to be appreciated.

Wasn't she just saying last week how she gets all the solos because no one else can hit those notes?
Man this show is sloppy.

Okay episode. Nowhere near as good as last week's though.

Santana is back with the glee club! Surprise! lol! Consequences? What are those? lolz

It's nice that they're trying to finally give Mercedes some dimension, but none of it really registers because her character is so underdeveloped.

Mike Chang's stuff was nice. I like that he got a song that he didn't sound terrible in, and I liked both of his parents.

Will and Emma continue to be offensive, shitty characters. Ginger supremacists? Fuck off.

At least Sue wasn't in this episode.

It's nice that there's still some continuity, but the show is also jumping back into the pool of schizophrenic shit.

Also, they butchered Coldplay. What an awful, awful version of Fix You.

Songs were great, drama was good - pulled a rather meta-turn with Mercedes dropping the part after the happy resolution.

Was quite disappointed with the whole asian parent subplot as a whole though. While the scene with his mom was really sweet, it was pretty much straight up Asian Dad meme.

While I know (IRL) some Asian parents that are mercilessly and robotically focused on their kids' grades, most of the "Asian parents" I know were hard on their kids out of love. We basically never got to see that from Mike's dad, and that bothered me.

For me personally, deviating from my own father's grand plan for medical school wasn't hard just because "Asian parents are SCARY," but mostly because I genuinely love my dad and didn't want to let him down. There's miles and miles of nuance that were left completely unexplored in this episode.

Parents in general are caricatures on this show, but I thought that Glee might try and actually tell a story with Mike, rather than retread the tired narration of cultural shackling and dream-crushing that the Asian Dad meme represents.

This move makes even less sense considering what it looks like they'll be doing with her, Mercedes and the new Glee club.

Thought the episode was good but the ending really killed it for me. My patience continues to grow thin with Will - he's, by far, my LEAST favorite character on the show and everything he does annoys me.

I've been told this season has been considerably better by more than one source.

Confirm or deny, Glee-GAF.

It's only been two episodes, I cannot decide. I know that Blaine is ready for a massive flooding though. In a land locked state.

What the hell has happened to Glee?! Multiple plot threads and an actual feeling of forward momentum? I'm shocked! Seems like the new writing staff is paying off. Marti Noxon is a great fit.

The choreography was insanely good this week, too. I didn't really like many of the songs, but it always remained playful and fun to watch despite that.

It's well on its way to being the best season if it continues on this trajectory. It's juggling multiple story threads that aren't being dropped from week to week (so far). Each of them actually being relevant and interesting in terms of dramatic/comedic potential.

I still enjoyed the show through last season, but if S2 drove you to quit watching, I don't think S3 has yet shown any improvement drastic enough to change your mind. It hasn't equalled S2's low points, but it also hasn't equalled its high ones (Duets, Silly Love Songs) quite yet.

Its definitely been pretty good so far. Minimal Sue, continuity, and one really great episode so far.

Naya Rivera did a shoot for FHM magazine. The pictures are in the usual egotastical place if you know where to look. And they are quite yummy.

omg.. fix you is such a good song.. but it was murdered .. awful. should have had someone with a better voice sing.. kurt wouldn't have been too bad.

what a waste

Indeed. She really should of brought her friends Brittney and Quinn with her though. Then it would have been something.

Tamlyn Tomita. She played Waverly in The Joy Luck Club.

she's one of my favourite asian american actors and grossly under utilised. I agree that the only good scene was with her because she brought her acting chops and was convincin.

the telecine and colouring on this episode had a lot of the actors looking kind of pasty and horrible.

FIX you was butchered by mr shuuuuuuster. awful high pitched "I can't get it right" whine all the way to the end. Not sure why they had him sing it at that pitch all the way through
