Sparks is unfortunately about 1000x more stupid than I hoped. Putting in my (fairly generic) neighbourhood name doesn't for example grab local news about my neighbourhood but rather seems to just do a vague google search on that string.
I think there's a huge potential for the idea of Google fetching you news about an interest, but it's got to be very, very smart for it to be effective.
It would be good if you could feed it a seed website to give it an idea of what you want. For example if you put in "menswear" into sparks you'll get super vague fashion news. It would be better if you could put in a narrowly focused blog about say classic american heritage brands, or japanese street style and have the spark tuned toward what exactly you're interested in.
maybe you can set web history on and google will make it smarter? click the gear, web histroy and turn it on.
not for the paranoid, but if you're doing google+ anyway, they pretty much already have your everything, so give it a shot.
EDIT: this will track your incognito mode as well. so you know..... it might make your porn searches more effective as well.
Google Calendar got a new look today. Probably part of their new Google experience thing they are doing when they launched Google+. Now if they only change Google Docs.
So far my gripe is I want more integration with Gmail and Reader. If there is a way to share Reader items to Google+ it will be awesome.
need to be able to add my youtube vids to my 'my videos' section as well. huge oversight.
Google could have kept this under wraps a bit longer, so far it's great, but they are missing a few things that would have made it ridiculous great.
